It doesnt have to be expensive to work - whats your favorite knife below $100?

The very best under $100 knife I have had (and still have) is a Spyderco Native. Got it for under $50 at Walmart. This thing has been worked hard for years, left in a flowerbed while using it to cut roots in late summer and found it the next spring, still going strong. The weird thing is that after years of abuse there is still no blade play at all.

There are a lot of brilliant knives under $100 but my personal favourites being :

Any Vic - my favourite flavour is the Pioneer X
Spyderco Centofante 3
Benchmade mini Presidio Ultra
Spyderco Ladybug
HK Nitrous Blitz
Kershaw Leek
Kershaw Launch series

My favorites include
Spyderco delica 4
Opinel No.8
Buck 110
Ontario RAT 3
Mora classic
And any two layer Victorinox like the tinker, soldier, or Spartan.

I'd say whichever model Vic sak best fits your needs. For me (so far), that's the explorer plus when I'm working and carrying a multitool as well and the ranger when I'm not.

Love my Becker 15 and Ontario Rat 1- two very capable knives.

my ole trusty smith and Wesson has comforted me through many a cutting tasks over the years. still sharp as the day is long and buttery smooth on the opening and close. couldn't ask for anything better. just wish i had bought two of them so i had a back up incase i ever wear out that little engine that could. don't think ill ever need it though. that's more knife than any one man could ever need in a lifetime. peace and good luck!

My favorite would be my Spyderco Rookie g10 with my Manix LW TB a close second. RAT1 folder and CS Talwar tied for third.

Got the 15 as well. Now stripped and with patina. It punches ẃell above its weight (price) class. Couldnt be more happy with it.

I have a Manix 2 and a Manix 2 XL that each cost less than $100 used. Those are my favorites. But for a new knife my favorite would be a Spyderco Tenacious.

Buck Vantage Select (large) paid $30 new

Good blade shape, secure lockup, comfortable grip, respectable steel, excellent deep pocket carry clip, and the flipper is a barrel of fun.
The Select (small) is also pretty nifty, too small for my big hands but maybe right for others. Usually, I remove the pocket clip on my knives, but this is an especially well designed one, so I keep it on. Carries great. Lately, this has been my go to knife for work.

Spyderco Delica paid $50 new

I can't add anything new to this knife's reputation. It's a classic, and deservedly so. I carry mine without a clip.

Spyderco Native paid $30 used

I can't decide which I prefer, so I alternate between this, also without clip, and the Delica for out and about carry.

Becker K&T knives are among the best bargains you can ask for, a BK16 for $60? hell yeah. My favorite was a BK9 I got for net of $70, it has years of use and looks better than ever.

I have a trio of discontinued Kershaws - Lahar, Groove and Cyclone (large tanto) - that each cost me under $100 at the time of purchase. I like them so much that I have a spare of each. Another would be the Benchmade HK Axis 14715BK, which I think is just about one of the coolest knives ever.

Was under $100 back when I bought it, still close now... One of my favorites of all time. I have lots of cheaper knives that I like very much, but the Manix2 LW S110v is untouchable for the money IMO. Same could be said about the regular S30v model.
