It doesnt have to be expensive to work - whats your favorite knife below $100?

Real Steel e775 Griffin. $50ish gets you:
- a handsomely stonewashed 3.5" ffg 14C28N blade--decent edge retention and a breeze to sharpen;
- good dual-position ergonomics with a forward choil that allows choking up for fine work (also aids easy sharpening of full cutting edge);
- fast button lock action that flicks open and closed smoothly; and
- much better fit and finish than I'd expect at this price point.

Not deep carry but I've come around on that point, as the smooth black aluminum scales would be hard to draw and are pretty discreet anyway.

I have other sub-$100 knives that hit all the practical buttons at least as well or better (ZDP-189 Delica, etc.), but this one is a tough package to beat and good fun for the money.

Well...a $100 Canadian gets you a little less these days. Of course the Vic SAKs, Opinel and Moras are up there - can't go wrong, excellent value for the $$ and perfect for what they are made for...

But recently i got a couple of the Grohmann knives, also they are made in Canada (the only Canadian production knife co. far as i know) and are my current favorite under $100 knives:

Also, the CS Code4 is pretty good too for the price...managed to get one just under $100 CAD:

Any of my SAKs and the Kershaw Skyline. Since I picked up my PM2 used for under $100, I'll mention it on a technicality :)

SOG Flash 1. I carry this knife EVERYWHERE, even when having sexy time with the missus. Small, light, sharp, useful. I liked it so much I have bought a heap more to give to family and to replace mine when I eventually misplace/ lose it.

Lol, too funny! How do you carry it for sexy times? More importantly why?

Actually, don't answer my first question. It's a family friendly thread.

Those canadian knives look pretty neat, I wouldn't mind checking out one of those little lockbacks.

I started off into knives over the 100 mark so I don't have many. SAK and a gec lockback. Both great knives/tools.

Nice... how have I missed this knife? Was not aware of but I really like it.

Pretty much all of my knives in recent years have fallen well under $100. My usual daily companion is either a Mora Pro Flex, or this little $3 Italian slipjoint by MAC Coltellerie that I took the full serrated edge off of and reground to a full height hollow grind. Sections of it pass the thumbnail test they're so thin, but I've not had any issues with rippling the edge. Flies through cardboard and wood alike.

Forgot to mention all the CS folders, especially the newer CTS-XHP ones.

Even though the Hap40 Endura was a "factory second" it was still under 100.

The Hap40 Endura has been the only one I've carried lately as I just got it, these would still be my favorites I currently own.

Previous models would include

Tops Mini Scandi for a neck knife or the Esee Izula in the background

As always a solid choice Benchmade Griptilian

& last but not least this Spyderco Salt 1. The edge that H1 takes is superb.

**One of the blades that's far from the 100 dollar price point that I still have yet to get but would love to have one (just feel like I already have enough knives) is the Kershaw Skyline**

Nice to see a Goddard - that design has long been a favorite of mine.

Quite like the Salt as well.
