It doesnt have to be expensive to work - whats your favorite knife below $100?

SAK, BUCK, ROUGH RIDER, COLT, MARBLES, OPINEL, MAM, CASE (well, some Case are under his limit ...)

My Spyderco paramilitary 2, manix 2 and native 5 all g10 got them under 100. S35vn is a good deal

I have the same knife as OP, cut the wave off and its great. Heavy but a great tool for daily wear. Was able to put a much better edge on it than factory with my Lansky rig.

NorthArms knives is a 'mid tech' Canadian knife company that makes amazing knives at a ridiculously low price due to the current us exchange rate. They are a two man father-son team.

They have several bushcraft and field models and awesome kitchen knives. All of their knives feature S35VN and locally sourced wood or G-10.

I have this knife in S35VN and red G-10. I think with the exchange rate the price I paid was around $45. It is my favorite kitchen knife by far. (not my picture)

I enjoy my high end Olamics and CRKs very, very much.

But when I go camping, I have a Cold Steel Ultimate Hunter in my pocket for whittling, and by-the-fire food prep. At my camp-kitchen table I will usually have a couple Moras (various models). I have not spared any expense however, as my big light-chopping/kindling knife is a Rodent 9.

Buck 110, Buck Slimline, Case Back Pocket, Vic Explorer Plus. The Vic is my constant EDC, I have often been putting the Back Pocket in beside my wallet, a longer blade is handy sometimes.

A few of my favorite less expensive knives that I keep in my carry bag are my Alox Cadet, Case Yellow/CV Copperlock, and a Case Select Peanut(Blue bone, nickel pins/liners with a long pull).

I don't care for many of the Moderns under $100, but do have an old Endura I bought in the early 90's that served me well.
I also have a Sage 1 I picked up here for less than $100 that I like, but I guess that doesn't count since it's over $100 in stores. Man, I need more Moderns in that range....think I'll go order a Rat 1 to replace the one I had years ago:p It was a good knife for the price, and I recommend it to my friends that want a Modern, but don't want to spend much.

When I am on the farm, I carry a Cold Steel Recon 1 with CTS XHP to use as my all purpose utility knife. Stupid sharp & excellent value. If I lost it or broke it, I wouldn't cry.....for too long.

Some of my personal inexpensive favorites include: Mora 511 and Companion, Opinels, Case Peanut, Case Sodbuster Jr., Case Stockmans, Buck 302, Buck 309, Buck Vantage Select (small and large), Buck Bantams, Kershaw Scallion, Kershaw Skyline, Ontario Rat 2, Kabar Dozier, Spyderco Dragonfly, Spyderco Delica, Spyderco Cat, Gerber LST Ultralight, Rough Riders, Byrd knives, and any SAK.

One of the best "bang for the buck" knives that I have bought in recent years was the little Volcan Coronado assisted flipper that Matt Diskin had made in Taiwan. I got one for my brother for $25 from Joe P. at the Blade Show a few years back. They were discontinued and that is too bad because they convinced me that a $25 knife could be quite good.

When it comes to single blade folding knives, the EKA Swede 8 is my favourite. Opinels are also a favourite. When I go camping, I always take an Opinel #8 with me for food preparation.

The alox Victorinox models and Mora's are great affordable knives too.

Most of my favorite <100 $ knives have already been mentioned so I will just go with: CRKT Amicus, Real Steel H6-S1 and Artisan Coutelier Navette

I recently got a Rat 1 with d2 steel. Haven t used it much yet, but if the steel is as good as d2 is advertised, it is a real bargain. My old favorites for under 100 are the Vantage Pro, and the Endura.
