It followed me home (Part 2)

Wow JB! You find the best ConnectiCuts. Let me know if you need swamping patterns...

I already know the answer to that- was the drive worth it you think? Our thresholds for finds are a little different lol.

Some axe hanging supplies, DPG and Half & Half Tung Oil blend. The real tung oil is gonna take some getting used to. 5-7 days between coats. It will slow things down compared to the wiping varnish (Homer Formby's) that I was previously using.

I drive a Honda Fit. :D

I was able to get everything for $275. Lots of good axes, a few Swedish, nice Craftsman, Plumb, Legitimus, Rixford, Norlund etc and some TBD. Lots of NOS Heller files, lots more near new Nicholson and other old quality files. Hammers, chisels, replacement handles, punches etc. and other random things. I really like the red hatchet sized brush hook. Lots of Connies.

I would say it's worth it for just the files alone👍
How did you ever bring yourself to leave such a wonderful place? They would've had to have the cops drag me a way 😁

Grabbed this for $9. I believe it's a kelly based off the red paint and the ridges in the eye, it's a boys axe. The first boys axe I have found too, and I bought it on vacation at a flea market in cape cod.

Good score, it should cleanup great not much you can get for 9$ and it'll still be there in the morning, not like the 6 pack of craft beer which you just rented!

Looks like a Kelly Woodslasher. Great little axe. And that's a nice haft, too. I bet you come to love that full un-clipped fawns foot. You don't find them like that anymore.

Hi Square, I turned down a dbl bit Woodslasher today guy wanted 30$ last week today he wanted 25$ all I got today was an "M" 2 1/4 with a bad haft and a good bit.

You should not normally have to pay that much for a single bit Woodslasher. Good tools, great utility, but common. The double bit adds value, and if the handle is good $25 isn't bad.

Here are a portion of my last haul's axes cleaned up. In this pic there are two great Craftsmans, a near mint Legitimus Connecticut, a full sized Wetterlings, an unknown Swedish boy's head, an Emerson & Stevens Connie (1944), a Kelly's Finest, an R. King Cast Steel and others.

Well when the guy at the pawn shop said $3.00 I couldn't get my money out quick enough!....just sitting in a box of old beat up stuff from my searching it appears to be called a "trimmers" hammer but looks useful for all kinds of things...mint shape with the remnant of an older Stanley label.

The haft was bad and I find Woodslasher's single, cruisers and doubles for 5 and 10$ all the time with bad or no hafts so I did mind passing on it, but thanks for your advice.

Did you have the elves working overtime on the cleanup job, the bits look great! I recently found a Craftsman like yours with the M and E under the bars.

Yup, $5-$10 is my personal limit for ones like that.
