I stand corrected, it must be a 6lb head due to the 6 marked under the poll. It's a heavy sucker for sure! Would the yellow bits of paint left be original?

I know nothing about weight of these 'removable wedges'. Can't be much. Older ones I've come across are cast or sheet steel which is preferable to the cheezy cast aluminum ones of now. I've never used any of the current jobbies (nor the older versions) but I can see the aluminum versions (the heads) breaking off before they are levered out with a claw hammer or pry bar. Wonderful concept though!
I got this lot today. I like the sheaths, and I like the curvy hatchet handle. Well, I like it all...
That screams Tassie pattern to me. Odd shape for North America!
Not my best haul, but for $50 I'll take it. The low gloss tung oil and wax will come in handy. I've only used beeswax cut with turp/BLO, but others have used Butchers and I'm happy to try it out.
BTW, that hatchet has the classic eye crack but it was thrown in for free. Anyone wants to repair it and I'll send it your way for $6 shipping.

What can you tell me about that spokeshave, is it in good enough shape to use after some light cleaning and sharpening ? I've been looking for a spokes have for a while and haven't found one.
Oh yeah, definitely. It is a model 151, Made In England. PM me if interested.
I can't pm you, and I can't email you but I'm definitely interested.
Because you don't know my e-mail or because you don't have e-mail? You must have e-mail if you signed up here, right?
