It followed me home (Part 2)

I just realized between studying for and taking finals and preparing for, going on, and returning from a trip I never gave the promised update. Well no more! I will list these in the order they're shown. For this batch, a 1942 Sager Chemical Puget Sound and a old, abused, and possibly hand forged big axe I plan on putting on a custom scrub oak handle.

I too received a little box.... Thanks Nbracket! I'm very pleased with the db and surprised AND happy to find extras... that's always fun!

I've already deduced that by filing the left hand side steeper I can work past that rust(really a void, not rust) no problem.

Thanks again man! I owe ya one!

Caught my eye as maybe a 2lb saw hammer? (2lbs, 9oz total). Very interesting pattern but I don't recognize the maker - Munson. It needs a good cleaning for sure.

That's a most fantastic looking hammer. In the long history of crosscuts and their tools I am still so fresh and a rookie, I dont want to guess or assume.
That said. I think it's made for saw repair and I would try it on one of my saws that have a bend, bow or a wave in the blade.
It's a beautiful looking tool.

The only Munson I know, till now...a town in Massachusetts and a chocolate company.

That's a neat hammer,Agent_H,and mysterious in it's purpose to me.
However,i'd be most surprised, and leery of:
I think it's made for saw repair and I would try it on one of my saws that have a bend, bow or a wave in the blade.

I know exactly Nothing of saw-doctoring,but All edges of this tool are entirely undressed.
Unless it's a brand-new tool meant to be dressed/radiused by user,i'd not strike any part of the body of a saw blade with it,it'd dent it irreparably.
Setting?Possibly...for some long,narrow teeth?

I'd say more likely it purports to some other trade.I was thinking maybe caulking...(about which i also know nothing...though in the far past as a boat-yard monkey i watched an old shipwright calk WWII-era vessels and other commercial craft of even older vintage, and i remember nothing like that among his tools of a Striking nature-only Struck...The working ends were, however, shaped very similarly...).
