It followed me home (Part 2)

Looking at it now, you guys are right. I shouldn't have done that. At the time I was frustrated with the auction and with the fact I'd spent 3 4-10 hour days working on prepping a door for a patch panel, botching it up several times, totally messing it up, then figuring out I could use a different and much nicer door I had that required a much simpler fix I hadn't thought of. Also, I too hate it when someone joins this awesome site and then begins insulting all of you and telling you guys that you are wrong and a bunch of wusses for not shrugging off his continual insults. I hope I didn't come across as one of those guys waiting to be set off.
No sweat man, not at all. I was just speaking in defense of my sniping auctions.
I don’t even think you said anything that needed deleting but I’ll edit my post where I quoted you as a curtesy.

Well today was just PLUMB exciting for me. No auctions here, just stumbled into a couple of garages and came out smelling like a, well a garage I suppose.

Hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday!

You got yourself a really great haul there!

The '44 Plumb with scabbard is very nice along with the Plumb USA half hatchet... putting those two in the same WWII era, that Plumb scout type nail puller hatchet most likely falls into the same era.

That Richards Wilcox vise has me most curious, really cool.

I can never have to many good working files at the ready!

Great holiday score!

A step wedge...keep it, reuse it in the plumb even. Super find!

Well thank you, I was pretty excited about the 2 plumbs. But that vice, oh that vice. I can't wait to get it up and running. It is really neat. It has a quick release on the bottom side to thread a pipe into. I am giddy. Thanks again, have a great weekend!

Thank you for being courteous with that and I agree, it wasn't delete worthy content, but it was out of character, out of place, and was me saying stuff while feeling depressed from wasting 3 days not accomplishing something that I did in 5 minutes. It's like writing down what you said while drunk as part of your autobiography. It's what I said I'd do, not what I'd actually do. Stuff like that doesn't deserve to remain posted.

Dont sweat the small stuff...whatever it was.
You semed to have owned it, right or wrong, taking responsibility earns my respect.
There have been a few folks older than you that have come and gone in the breeze, not able to to take ownership.
Now lets go hang some axes!:cool::)

Got my first slick today. It's a good'un! Underhill edge tool co. You can easily see it's construction and it's beautifully laminated! At the cutting edge it's solid carbon steel for about an inch and then it tapers to the back and up 5". Measures 3"x14" and 25 1/2" with the handle.

Has a maple handle retained with a handmade brass rivet.

The following three pictures gives further clues as to how it was made. You can see where they rolled it and forged it together. So cool!

This is in the socket. Also appears rolled but I can't picture how this was done.

Sorry for all the pics of just one item. I'm not excited or anything...
I also recieved a handmade bottle hook for a kerosene bottle from ithinkverydeeply ithinkverydeeply today in the mail. I have so much wonderfully crafted steel to appreciate! I'm not worthy! Lol.

Bad lighting and it's a shame too because there's a lot of attention to detail in that little hook. Thanks itvd! I really appreciate it. It's got a good home!

I totally agree with what's been said. I think we all understand that it's best to post with tact and even humility. Things can easily get twisted around or misread. I know I've posted things I regretted later. At least you recognized it!
Some are WAY too proud to do that. And they don't deserve respect and don't seem to last very long either. :D
I have never, not once, made a FB post. This forum is the extent of my online footprint. So it's been my crash course for all of it. I feel very fortunate to have a great group to experience it with. Thank you all!

Nevermind that. What's the anvil weigh! Brand? :)
I thought it was a Peter Wright until I got it home and then I seen something that has me questioning that. It felt like 75# or so. They have pounded on the side of it so makers marks aren't legible but some more may come out when it's cleaned up. Edge damage to the face that I will need to make some decisions on, but it's fairly flat.
