I like those. I wonder if one of those styles is any better than the other.

These did follow me home from my parents house following our Christmas day, whole family get together.
These are from my mom and mother in law.
I am very lucky to have both still in my life.

You cant see it in the pictures, but just off to the top right, next to the fireplace is my AWESOME Vaughan Senior Scout Axe with Sheath...;):D Thank you again ithinkverydeeply ithinkverydeeply :thumbsup:

Wow is right...so uncommon to see a virgin axe!

Interesting what a fine angle these had, from factory...These were curious tools, pretty Universal in purposing,felling/splitting/everything in building-axes...
Also, from the time+culture where Re-blading was a common part of an axe ownership...

All of the above kinda makes for a fluid equation...:)

:)
Nice monster!Very clean forging...
That rougher surface toward the top of eye is the only indication of it having been exposed to a Very high degree of heating...Meanwhile,there's number of welds performed there.
It's possible that even that was cleaned up(scaled off)in subsequent finishing process.
Remarkable.Nowadays it is Very rare to see an axe completely,as in Finish-forged,to shape.
Beautiful work.

I'll second that. It's a good'un! Not flashy but damn nice just the same. Plus it looks nice being in such good shape.
What will you put for a grind on it? Do you live in a rural area where you can use it much?
Not sure on the grind. I just thought I would work with what was there. I am open to any suggestions you may have though? And no, no longer in the country. In town for now.
