I found a couple of interesting pieces today but no axes. I found this pair of antique augers, a 1-1/2" and a 2".

They join my set of augers, 2-1/2" of unknown origin, 1-1/2" Swedish military auger, 1/2" U. S. Army auger.

The 1-1/2" is stamped "S&W Co. PAT'ED MAR 20 1888"

Also picked this 30" pair of blacksmith tongs and a pike.

Nice finds. Those tools look very useable. Are the bits in good condition? I also like the relief carving. Did you do that w/ chisels? It makes a nice addition to the photos.

Found quite a few axes at the market today unfortunately I only had enough to buy a few of them or I would have at least three more axes to add to my collection. I did pick up a true temper tommy axe, a genuine plumb carpenter hatchet and a true temper Kelly perfect flint edge double 32 here are the hatchets I will post a pic of the flint edge a bit later. I paid 20$ for all. Not to bad at all. It's seems most folks don't know what they have at the market although there are a few who are aware and ask prices accordingly, hope u guys enjoy, I'll be posting more pics when I re Finnish them. I'm addicted :)

Nice Tommy axe. You did good. I wish we had more flea markets around here. Not too sure about the duct tape on the Plumb.

Yeah the plumb handle was split and I couldn't save it I just drove it into a log and snapped it off I'm working on a handle for it as we speak :) the tommy handle looks like I might be able to save it. It does have a chunk missing any the butt of it I might just round it out and use it as is.

The two new ones need a little work but they're not bad. I've already re-worked the other 3 and they cut great. The 2-1/2" was pretty rough when I found it - not nearly as nice as these two new finds.

The relief carving was some screwing around by a buddy with my Lancelot tool on the 4-1/2" angle grinder. I'll pass along the compliment.

That's an awesome deal. The Tommy Axe alone is worth that. I believe that the Tommy Axe has its original handle and that it is a later production model. The early ones were partially octagonalized just below the head. But the curve of the handle and the shape of the swell look like original stock to me.

Is the Lancelot tool a blade with chainsaw teeth on the perimeter? I' often wondered how they worked.

Hello Blade Forums, i never thought of my self as a axe collector but then i realized i have 8 or 9 axes, some i use daily and some vintage ones i keep around just to take out once in a while to wipe the dust off. my newest edition is a Welland Vale Black Prince boys axe, #2.5 head 29" haft. I couldn't find any examples of one on-line so i though i would share some photos of mine.

i was surprised to see #2 1/2 stamped on the pole, lucky for me no one used it as a hammer.

Nice axe! We don't see many Welland Vales down here in the States. But rumor has it that some of our Marshall Wells axes were made by Welland Vale.

Great to see a 'Welland Vale Black Prince'. My Son in-law has a 41/2 pounder. I have a 41/2 pounder too, it's not a Prince though. Quite rare here.

Here's a crosscut my buddy picked up for me at a flea market for $10. A hookaroon made from a axe head on a 36" handle. And my new Husqvarna splitting maul.
