It's about that time again... Giveaway!

Thanks for the generosity! I came to Bladeforums almost 15 years ago from a google search on blade alloys. I found some interesting and very informative posts and started delving deeper, primarily in the Traditional subforum researching the types of knives I grew up with. Almost 19 thousand posts later, I'm still here.

Well, by golly, I was trying to stay out of this, but as Jolipapa Jolipapa said: "because how to resist the appeal of a TC barlow!"
I'm in!
Was researching knives a few years ago, and kept finding helpful information on Bladeforums. And as JohnDF JohnDF said, I "stayed for the people." Bladeforums is a big place, but I spend most of my time here on "the Porch."
Wonderful giveaway. Good luck to all!

(By the way, 250 posts in the traditional forum is not a lot!) ;)

Please count me in on this one, and thanks for the opportunity.

I had been reading the forums in my spare time for a few years before I became a member. I guess in a similar fashion ... because of a shoulder inury I was spending a lot of time reading the here and I thought it was time I join in the fun so I made an account. I'm very glad I did, I've not only enjoyed the forums and learned a lot I've made some great friends.

After years carrying inconsequential folders or odds and ends I found a Spyderco Q in a small shop and starting searching for info on it. I found BladeForums and all it's different categories. Being an old (and I mean old) fashioned kind of guy I naturally gravitated towards something called "traditional," and the rest is history.

I’ll join in the fun! I came here back in January 2020 trying to figure out if collecting knives was going to be something I wanted to put my toe into. I asked a question and started a thread. I was curious if the popularity of GEC was the next Beanie Baby/Baseball Card collector bubble and I just needed to stay away. Funny to revisit now. I don’t really care about the long-term investment value of the knives as much as I just really love collecting the patterns, the materials, and the functionality.

It created a fun discussion for about a week. At that point, I was hooked based on the wealth of knowledge here and the deep wells of bad dad humor. I’ve enjoyed it ever since.

Thanks so much for making the porch a great place!

I came to blade forums when searching for Busse Combat knives. I found the subforum here.

I wandered into the porch because another Busse collector, turned rock star knife maker, Jared Oeser suggested I come on over here to peruse...

The rest us history!!

Thank you for the chance!!

I was a long time lurker before I signed in. It's been a while, so I don't know if I found this place by accident or purpose. I've been collecting since the 1980's so it could have been either.

My finances took a turn for the better around 2006, when I got married and someone besides me could look after the money. With a little extra money I started looming at pocketknives and quickly started appreciating the knives and people who post here on the Porch. Been around here since 09, by far the humble, down to earth kind of place I enjoy.

Fixall Fixall , I love the rules of your giveaway!

This isn't an entry for me.... I have waaaay too many knives, and the 14 is on the small side for me. I would like to nominate rockgolfer rockgolfer . Haven't seen him around this parts lately, but I know he's still somewhere around BF. He's done me solid many times in the past.... I have him to thank for gifting me the 2013 BF knife!

I first came to Bladeforums because I needed an EDC and had been carrying pretty bad knives for too long. Started out in General, but realized I hated pocket clips and loved bling. Found the Porch and never looked back! Been here off and on for almost 10 years..... Great place to meet new friends and figure out how to spend money!

Thanks for the awesome giveaway and good luck to all who enter!

Excellent GAW and most generous on your part. Ironically what brought me to BF and more specifically the Porch was a TC Barlow. I have always been a traditional knife guy, owning a few Old Timers and a couple of Swiss Army Knives. I was on some other forum, don’t even remember where, and somebody made a comment about their TC Barlow. I Googled it and saw a photo with 3 of them, I think posed on a saw blade. Instantly I thought there’s a knife I could pocket and probably never need another. Then I started searching and found the Porch. My first post, probably laughed at by many of you, I think was WTB TC Barlow. there were no offers so I started to participate on the Porch. Slowly, and sometimes not so slowly, I amassed a pretty good collection of Stockmans and Swiss Army Knives. But the elusive TC Barlow has evaded me and I have never acquired one. So after I have put many of you to sleep, I’m in please…

Another amazing GAW!

Can't say I've been here too long in comparison to some but 8 years is not too shabby in my books 🤣 However, still pretty new to the traditionals scene (hence, the Porch) and have a lot to learn.

I sought out Hinderer XM-18 originally and happened upon here, then the GEC bug bit me...now, I hardly look at modern knives much at all LOL.

Please count me in and thank you again for your generous GAW!

In a word, Moras. When I came here I had about half a dozen each of Opinels and SAKs. I had the Löwen Messer Hippekniep (sodbuster) I had bought in a department store in Amsterdam, because I had neglected to bring a knife from home. I had the Tapio puukko I had bought out of the Brookstone catalog, and a small Anza I had bought at a motorcycle swap meet. I was by no means an enthusiast. My knives were camping tools.

My sweetie had also given me a few knives at Christmas, most notably a Kabar USMC knife, and a Griptilian. I guess I must have begun taking an interest in knives; she would not have bought those gifts without some encouragement.

I read about Mora knives in a gun forum. My curiosity brought me to BF. Since then, I have developed an appreciation for a lot of knives, including a TC Barlow, and met a lot of fine people, so yeah, count me in, and thanks.
