It's about that time again... Giveaway!

That's a beautiful knife I wouldn't mind checking out, so I guess I'm in.

If I remember correctly I mainly came to Bladeforums for the axe subforum because nobody on the tool forum I belong to cared about them, I don't know why I didn't specifically come here to share my love of knives though.

Once here on BF's it wasn't that long before I began to browse around the porch and began discovering my distaste for modern folders.
It took me a bit to realize modern folders could never be what I wanted them to be and longer still to realize that I actually just didn't want anything to do with modern folders anymore.
I eventually got there though and couldn't be happier, I'll never turn back.

I came to BF looking for advice on "real knife" to replace my worn-out 440 Kershaw Leek. Couldn't decide between a Camillus Dominator, some Emerson, and a Benchmade 921 Switchback. Ended up with a Woodard Fer de Lance after learning that autos were legal in Arizona. 🙃

I came to the Porch looking for a traditional knife to complement the bevy of "tactical" knives I had acquired since joining. I had recently purchased a small Case John Deere stockman as a way to remember my grandpa who had recently passed. He was a farmer and sheep rancher that always had a sharp pocket knife and always bought John Deere equipment. Coming here got me in to vintage Case, pre-closure Camillus, and of course GEC.

Very generous giveaway thanks for the chance. Id say what brought me here was a love for knives since a lad. I used to get the cheapest crap from flea markets with my dad as a little kid and gradually moved up in quality over the years. When the age of the internet appeared I was bigger into guns and looked a lot at those forums. Once I figured out there were forums for basically everything, and guns got to be too expensive, I rekindled my love for knives and their research lead me here! The Porch was always a kinder/gentler place to pop into time and again. I do more lurking in this area, because I usually just like to admire the beautiful knives posted. I stumbled across BF from time to time in conducting research on various knives and just decided to stick around one day. Well, apparently more than one day I guess.

I wont enter as I am lucky enough to have been the receiver of many amazing Knives by my friends here, but I wanted to say a big Thank you for this.

In fact I have been thinking about a giveaway for some time now, I used to hold them fairly regularly and haven't for some time - so I will do something about this!

Oh...to answer you question -I was into fixed Blades in a big way, and I purchased this Pocket Knif, I didn't know much about it posted it up on Bernard Levines Thread, Charlie Campagna came in and asked me to show it a place called Traditional Knives- I had never been there - knew absolutely nothing about them.

Well...... I haven't looked back, I have learnt an awful lot- not only about Knives but just how good people can be, and that even on the internet there still is a well mannered, well behaved place full of great people - this is of course watched by our mods who do such an amazing task that goes unnoticed most of the time.

Traditionals is just a great place, I have met some very very nice people, and made some very very good friends here.
 
I'm in! Thank you for the chance. I don't recall what exactly brought me to this corner of the internet. I think I was researching Spyderco knives and happened across the porch and ended up camping out here. I read a few posts... put my old sak in my pocket, bought a GEC at retail for less than what it cost to fill up my car with gas... after looking at them online for weeks before deciding lol. Good luck everybody :thumbsup:

Yahooo! I cannot believe my luck. I have always admired the TC Barlows and I couldn’t be more excited to have one, especially that beauty. It will be cherished! Thank you so much Fixall Fixall .

I feel guilty being so excited when you have had such a rough weekend. So sorry about the water damage. I’ve been through that twice, once a flooded house (nightmare) and once a leaking upstairs toiled 3 weeks after we moved in to our current home. Totally sucks but it looks like you caught it early. Glad someone was home to see it.
