It's been fun

Sorry to hear this Mark. I always enjoyed seeing your work, you have a definite style of your own.
Here's hoping that all you need is a break and things will turn around for you

Man, great loss to the community but health is important. Best of luck and I'll miss seeing your work.

Sorry to hear of the decision, you make some one of a kind pieces. The blade loving world just got one fine entree taken off the menu if you ask me.

Mark I'm sorry to hear your retiring, hopefully you'll get days when ya feel well enough to play, my Oldman always said Keep some long term goals but be happy as you approach each short term accomplishment.

Peace Brother, we'll catch ya around the old forge.:D

I'm sorry to see this, seems like all those that started on here back when I did are very few anymore. I understand your pain though, since spring I've had a great deal of shoulder pain in the right and now both shoulders, suppose to see the doc on friday next week again and see what he suggests about shoulder surgery's, I'm still hammering away but old age sucks.

Take care Mark and the knife world is going to be at a loss without you.

Bill

I'm sorry to hear this news Mark.

I hope you will find some relief in the future.

If you need anything let me know.

Take Care of yourself.

Sorry to hear this also. Sit back relax take it easy. Enjoy life a bit. Who knows what the future is. Thank yo for being here. I am so glad I found this place and people like you are why. Jim

Your health is most important. Hope you start feeling better with a little rest in your life. Good Luck and thanks.

Do what you need to do, Mark. Thanks for being here to keep the peeps in line. Good fortune with the retirement. Be safe and well.

wow....best wishes to you, Mark. Glad you're not leaving knives altogether. I hate it when a maker says he's quit and then we never hear from them again.

I'm guessing it's more than just the forging work that bothers you......???....if not....like someone else said....most stock removal knifemaking tasks can be done seated...have done it myself when not feeling well.

It was 2.5 yrs ago now that I injured my thumb (yes, it still hurts...still can't open a jar right-handed) and put down the forging hammer for good. I didn't anticpate it turning out this way...but moving over almost entirely to stock removal ended up keeping me in the biz.

Is this a permanent departure? or just a leave of absence until you heal up?

Dan

Sorry to hear about your back. It sucks to get old and " your can do can't keep up with your want to". I know personally.
Your vast knowledge and experience is a great asset to all of us. Thanks for continuing to share. Besides we need you around to thump us on the head when we get out of line.

Sorry to hear it Mark. Hope you and Deb can still get some pleasure out of the great view and quiet life out there.
Stacy

I've very sorry to hear that Mark. I've enjoyed watching your skill grow and the knife world is definitely going to be missing out with you retiring.

I'm glad you're still going to be sticking around; this place wouldn't be the same without you. :)

Sorry to hear, yes bad health is a miserable thing. Just don't part out your shop just yet, as you just never know. Health is a bit like the tide, pains sometimes subside and a good remission may cause the knifemaking bug to bite you again.

Sorry to hear that Mark. Hopefully you will get better and get back into it. You can still come up to TrackRock and give me some pointers :D
Seriously i did learn a lot from you at TrackRock as well as here on the forum. Glad you are still going to be here.
