It took many years to find this 1961 Bone Handled 8OT.
The box is a 1963-65 box, the 1961 box was made of wood.

GORGEOUS. Were the bone handles ever offered stock, or was this a special edition?

The first 8OTs and last ACB8s, had bone handles. Schrade used bone on some of their knives before Delrin.

It is my opinion, that the 1986 Red Bone 8OT was the best 8OT Schrade made. (these came in 3 knife set)

This 8OT came in my 2004 Anniversary Display Unit.

Schrade were going to sell a set of knives, in 2004 for the Anniversary. One of them knives was an 8OT

Nice group of knives, koldgold!

Here are all my Old Timers.
The Barlow is an Ulster, the rest Schrades.

You guys are killing me! You have some great looking classic knives there! I posted in the "want to buy" section, for a 34OT, but no luck yet. I'll just have to keep admiring yours in the meantime! Keep em coming!!

2OT's and 8OT's are my absolute favorites and you guys are showing some real gems. Koldgold with that awesome early bone model and Charlie has the others. I don't have many grails but those 2 models right there along with a nice Remington 1173 & 1306 would be knife knirvana;)

Some of you have heard me talk about my brother-in-law, an avid outdoorsman, who passed away from a heart attack about 6 years ago. This past Christmas, my sister was kind enough to give me two of his knives, one of which was this 34OT. It was in rough shape and I cleaned it up the best I could, although there is some pitting on the backsprings I can't get off. I cleaned the blades with Simichrome to get off the rust and them stuck them in a potato overnight (just like his "Pappy" would have told me to do!) to get a patina started. This old rascal is now back in the saddle again!

This well worn early model 8OT is my most cherished knife. It belonged to my paternal Grandfather. It was given to me by my Grandmother on the day of his funeral. He passed on 9/26/68.

What a great knife...I really like that match-striker pull.

It seems that so many of these well-used and well-loved Shrades were passed down to us from family members. They hold a special place in our hearts and will in turn be passed down to others in the family.
