It's only 4:30 and I already have chemical burns...

Looks good enough for me to beat the snot out of... I really need to get a good belt sander.

230, did your blade have a line of INFI pits on the flat just below the spine?

here was mine after some work.

btw, what grit belts were you using?

There were a couple, but it wasn't a solid line like that, and it was NOTHING like the FFBM. Is the BWM convex ground like the NMFBM? It took me a minute to realize I was looking at a BWM and not an NMFBM.

I started with a new 220 grit belt and worked my way up to 15 micron. The edge was a 320 grit to .5 micron compound/ leather belt then hand stropped with pink compound.

Alright, i'm finished, I just need to hand sand down the spine/talon hole/butt and a little bit after the handle that I missed with my sander and clean up a couple low grit scratches above the edge. This is the sharpest I have ever gotten a knife, free hanging hairs are fuzz sticks and it glides through phonebook paper like nothing.

Should I go further or just be happy with it the way it is?

It looks really good. :thumbup::cool:

I don't know why I thought you were doing a BWM. :o

I did my NMFBM, as well, but never got around to putting up a thread. Yours looks much better than mine. Maybe I should have another go at it come spring.

You can make fuzz stick from hair?

That looks great 230. Great idea finishing it up by hand! You will have your LE in no time!

Photos and a Video or it didn't happen. LOL :D

I was kidding. ROFL :D

But it would be nice to see. :)

I'll get some later when I'm a little more motivated, but my ASH could make hair fuzzies after being power stropped with some .5 compound. I got a pic of that atleast

That was SHARP.

Now I started finishing my knives with pink compound after the green and then bare leather by hand, it's gotten into crazy territory.

As for the newspaper/phonebook, that's not too hard, I can usually get that right off the 15 micron belt.

I will say, the first time I use the knife against wood, it won't be splitting hair, but it'll still shave arm hair and paper. The pink compound is useless for everything but my ego.

Hair fuzzies are cool.

The biggest thing with newspaper etc is that is has to be very sharp with no Burrs or it will catch and tear.

Yeah, a bur will catch pretty bad when going against thin paper.

I remember thinking I was awesome when I was 16 and had a lansky system and I got it to shave paper.
