I am getting annoyed by that fact that every time Liu Kang makes any comment, he gets snide responses to the effect that he is only in it for the money.

Listen people, this is a community, and it works better if some of you would stop attacking other folks every chance you get. I understand that you don't like Dan's business practices, and I am not here to defend or support that. Do business with him or don't do business with him, I don't care. I am here to say that Dan is a member of the Busse Forum like any other and as such deserves to be treated in the way you yourself would want to be treated.

Many of you newer piglets may not have noticed how the old Hogs don't spend as much time here as they used to. I have been told that some of them find this place is simply not as much fun as it used to be. Constant attacks on other members are not fun, and contribute nothing to building our community.

Yeah, not quite sure how this thread will help Dan.

IMO, it's not as fun simply because the old HOGs don't come around as much. When they do things liven up a little more. :thumbup::D

not sure i agree that he has ever really been a member of the hog community, but he likes busse knives for reasons that are his own and he comes by to post.

he paid for a dealer membership, and if jerry has no problem with the flipping, im not in a position to dispute that in a public manner.

He's been nothing but a good member from everything I've seen. He should be treated like one :thumbup:

we should also remember that he is not doing anything members (we) have not been doing for years, ie, selling the knives with a large markup. he just does it more often than most, but not as often as some have in the past.
 
In all seriousness, it isn't a matter of which hogs you find around the trough these days, or why some aren't stopping by like they used to.

That goes for everywhere on Bladeforums -- except for Whine & Cheese! :D

I agree, LK is a positive straight forward dealer. He sets his price at his discretion. He is def a member of the HOG community as much as I am. I know a lot of new buyers that go to him because he is a reputable, stand up business man. Call it a premium for guaranteed good service.

Just take the high road and if the comment may be negative or construed negatively by others, just leave it out. Its ok to bust balls but keep it respectful.. thats all.:D Just dont be a D!CK!

Are you sure? Maybe you'd snatch up the blade you wanted from a post show ganza (remember those?), for less.

All you have to do is search his name in the GBU to see what kind of people he is:thumbup:
 
I met LK at the Easton show and liked him right away. He was friendly, straightforward, and very willing to share his knowledge and give me great advice on my purchases.

I haven't bought many knives from him, until today (GULP), but he was courteous, friendly and willing to bargain on the phone with me. Not that he isn't a sharp negotiator. Still, I gave him a little more than I could have gotten away with because I do value his good and reliable service and honesty.

GFB told me once that the old hogs generally sold and traded for what they had in the knives. Although we have done this a couple of times with each other, as I have with a few others, that is clearly not the convention now on the forum.

I guess I'm saying: HEY THEY TOLD YOU "NO REGRETS" WHEN YOU CAME IN THE DOOR!

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I don't know LK, but have seen his sale threads - If one doesn't like the knife and price don't buy it - If he is still here after that then you know where he stands

Some people don't really understand business - You can't stay in business by selling for what you bought it for or less.

Mr. LK has obviously incurred cost traveling to Knob Creek and maybe other places so give it a break - How does one expect to achieve show prices by sitting on their couch -

Get over it -

I've seen this same type of thread directed at others - don't buy it if you don't want to pay the asking price, just don't bitch and whine about it and we'll all be good.

Give the man some respect cause I haven't seen him dis any of you yet.
