I know I'm a youngster here, but, I feel the need to chime in. I've bought a few knives from Dan and had the opportunity to meet him. He is a great guy - very knowledgeable and willing to explain things. He loves knives, and is very straight forward about it. I think we all should be glad he's around! Hell, if he's making a little profit doing what he loves, more power to him.

Now - where's that Gladius I was thinking about...........:D
 
Great another thread about me... I shouldn't be all that popular but I guess I am. I'm really nothing special and just a normal person. I wish we could talk about how nice the scores of Busse knives are and what our most recent score is, but I guess we are talking about boring me. Well, lets get it over with. Yes, I do what many of you HOGs do, I do buy and I do make money in the process but I think if you look around most of us do. Even those of us that is trying to sell an used AD for $550... even if that is what you have into it, at some point someone paid over the original Busse offering cost. There just are not enough Busse to go around, knives are just that good. So there is always going to be a after market for these knives.
I don't like calling people out and don't name names but we all know some HOGs do it more often then others, but I got nailed and got labeled a dealer and get to pay more per year for what most of you only have to pay a gold membership for. I'm not complaining, I love being on this forum and a part of this community and worth every penny I paid.
There are lots of old HOGs still here, I know because I just sold lots of my knives to them within the last couple of days. They are just a bit more quiet. I guess that's what happens when you older and wiser, you just sit back and watch everyone go through what you did. They know the work it takes take off and the cost of going to a show and we usually am able to work out something fair for both parties.
As for if I should be a HOG, I'll put up that I have more Busse knives in my personal collection against most HOGs here. Just because I don't go around bragging doesn't mean I don't own, I don't feel a need to flaunt my collection. A lot of people aren't smart enough to see the big picture and I don't feel like explaining.
I have more then enough support from those that know me. So if you don't show up at shows to support the best knife company in the world, don't want to buy from anyone that went there, don't want to buy off the exchange, good luck getting the knives you want.
I just wanted to thank all that support me along the way. I do appreciate it. Don't be mad, if you think you can just do what I do and you can make the money too =)
 
One thing I like about LK is he has the "Dealer" license plates. ;)

Thank you, Esav, for trying to drag the thread back to my point.

Yes, Dan can defend himself, and has done so. My point is that he shouldn't have to. I am not defending Dan per se, I am defending the Forum that I very much enjoy. If we continue to allow attacks on anybody here, then we tear down our community.

Let's talk about negative comments, not Dan.

hahahah, nice man :D Yes, $550.00 is what I have into it. Another primary difference is that those will never be reproduced, so I paid more knowing that. Heck, I even offer a handling discount of a mere 3% for USPS MO :D

Actually, you could also buy from Ganza's too, and the BCS, and the current offering... Ganza's and BCS have kinda dried up though.
 
Hey, Guy... Does this mean that you'll back me up the next time I buy 27 of another Busse model? ;)

I'm pretty sure that Dan can handle the heat... Heck, remembering the blowback I got for just buying a lot of knives was about the same.

But this thread has taught me one thing, and thanxx everyone for this... Capitalism and supply & demand are back in full effect here, so if ya can't beat 'em, join 'em...right? :eek::foot: Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go change my sigline. :D Hmmm, what should I list for sale first...???

did we really need this thread in the first place? the people who have a big problem with him aren't going to stop attacking him, his friends aren't going to stop being his friends. someone lock it down before we get any more animosity in here.

We all have rights. But there are certain things that can make questionable
a persons defense that they are acting in good faith. For example, why ask someone
to remove the price on the forum that you paid for the knife? Is it so that your conscience doesn't feel that bad when you mark up the price 200 or more dollars? No objection to mark ups, but how about leaving the trace so that people (especially new ones)can make an educated purchase and not one based on lack of information and
initial euphoria? Also if you are trading with a fellow forumite who knows how much you
paid for the knife and now you are now trying to make a killing off them.... that I find insulting,
and objectionable. Everything else is free country. If you make 20K a year I am happy for you, you have talent, but when you get this much ongoing flack it is for a reason.
I may get assailed for speaking my mind, I do not mean offense just addressing truth.
