It's snark in here.

yeah, it's a scrap knife. It would be a strange thing to make on purpose. The tip is quite delicate... it will probably live out its life as a letter opener, of all things.

Finishing the evening with one of these, but holy cr@p it's practically wine!:http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/3818/76440/
Pretty good, tho. Given that it's all lactose'd up, I have a nice spoonful of yogurt to see if that helps.

Still though, its a very wicked looking cutter.

Considering I am drinking only the finest Kentucky Deluxe tonight! Only the best for this pallet! LOL Some of those winesque beers are really good. Duchess of Bourgogne, and some of the Sam Adams stuff is really good. High point beer is always welcome.

That sounds great, Are you getting BAH and living at home?

I just looked it up and Im pretty sure im eligible for 100% of the post 911 GI bill as well. It looks like you only need 36 months since 911 or to be discharged due to service-connected disability. I was both. I might need to enroll in a couple college classes just for BAH if you can get it while living at home LMAO

Yes if you take the Post 911 you get BAH but you have to take at least 12 hours. If you do online school you dont get as much but you get a little. Yes Im living at home.

It IS wicked! I'm afeared of it. Gotta get a cork to stick on the end.

Really? Kentucky Deluxe? UrbanDictionary paints QUITE a picture of that little repast. So vivid that I won't even paste the URL here. Search, I dare ya!

This Southern Tier is quite strong, but doesn't taste overly so. It basically tastes like a well-rounded dark beer. I can live with that. So far I haven't encountered one of these stouts I wouldn't drink again, but there are still a Sam Adams and Breckenridge left in the mixed six. Which ones would I actually buy a six of? Hmm. It's still hard to beat the Guinness Pub Draught can. I actually LIKE Guinness's low alcohol content, and its moderate calorie count doesn't hurt either. Maybe this week my local pusher will have the Butternuts Moo Thunder Stout I asked them to order. That's frickin' stout soda, and the happy cow on the can doesn't hurt.

Thats awesome. Im going to look into it some more. When i got out they told me i was eligible for the GI bill but i just never really felt like i had a reason to go back to school. Mostly because they told me not to work anymore. SO i felt like if i couldnt use the degree why get it. But for the last couple years i been thinking of taking something that just interests me to learn. I love plants, herbs, and trees... Maybe i can take a course relating to that and use what i learn in my own gardens...

ZZYZZ, good call with getting everything in order first. I most certainly will. But i dont understand why you were not eligible for any education benefit. Thats messed up.

A friend i served with stayed in a few years longer than me, but he wasnt eligible for education benefits either, but that was just because they paid off like 40 thousand dollars in student loans for him.

omg, one 7.4% beer (downed quickly) and I'm totally drunken.
I will NOT text Derek.

Do it, it's the only way I talk to him anymore.

Basically, Congress F'd up when they passed the Montgomery era GI Bill, which superceded the VietNam era GI Bill. I was right on the borderline for the two plans.

The bill establishing the ME GI Bill stated that anyone who started active duty before Day X fell under the VN GI Bill. Anyone who started active duty on Day Y fell under the ME GI Bill.

The problem was that Day Y did not equal Day X + 1. It was like Day X + 3 or 4. So that left a gap over the weekend of August 12/13/14 1977 where if you started active duty during that time frame, you did not fall under either one. That screwed everyone who happened to graduate from college and be commissioned that weekend during their respective universities' Summer Graduation Ceremonies. About 53 of us nationwide, the bulk of us, from A&M (we had like 28-30 that weekend).

Here's the real kick in the pants. Texas has the Hazlewood Act, which provides for supplemental assistance IF YOU HAVE EXHAUSTED ALL YOUR GI BILL BENEFITS. If you never had any benefits, the VA would not write a letter on your behalf stating that you had exhausted your benefits because you never had any benefits to exhaust. No letter, no Hazlewood funds.

So my dislike of politicians goes way, way back.

hoss, check out Davidsons. Any shop that's a distributor will show up on there when you click for a quote. I'm not sure if it's true everywhere, but my local shops are pretty consistent in price between that and walking in and asking for an order.

If the Rossi is for a kid, I would test it out with the 20 gauge before handing it over. My buddy has one of the 22/20 combos and it's brutal with the shotgun config.

Nah, it's for me. I wanted the youth model for the shorter length. The idea being for a backpacking gun. Looked at a youth .22/.410 combo at walmart and that thing was small and weighed nothing. Almost bought it but I figured I could get a new one anytime.

Need to get one of those Chiappa Tripple Threat 12 gauges.... get two, convert to pistols, make cowboy/bandlero holsters, and well.... you probably can fill in the blanks lol maybe some bk9 bayo's to go with? :D

:barf: Little more than a novelty, and an expensive one at that. Dave Canterbury did a video on the new Pathfinder School edition Triple Threat going over it's virtues and I politely dismantled every argument/reason for buying one in the comments.

I laughed a little too hard at the urban dictionary's definition... LOL

Yah I would say they are quite a bit steep for what you are getting. My $100 mossberg has probably shot thousands if not more shells and is still kickin just as good if not better than it was the day it was taken out of box. It has never skipped a beat... Hard to beat that for the price.

That's bullshit.

I am sorry you got jerked around like that.

I have said it before and I will say it again.

Thanks to all of you for your service.

Wow ZZ that is indeed bull$hit bud!!

And 1977?... I wasnt even born yet :D How much did a nickel cost in your day ZZ? -snark.

Streamlight's customer service is excellent. Got a whole new Microstream exactly as they told me over the phone.

I like my streamlight nano. But I want a veleno designs quantum D2. Little. Bright. Rechargeable. Looks cool. But around 50 bucks for the regular version. around 70 bucks with tritium installed. Eventually i will get one with tritium. Would make a great EDC keychain light.

Hey guys, I'm looking at getting a Maxpedition Condor II to use as a day pack. Anyone have any trouble with them? (I did a search here, but I'm not gonna go through 50+ pages of snark :D)

I LOVE my fenix E11. Excellent light. Only streamlight i have tried is the nano but i might try the microstream before long, seems good and well priced. Never tried a surefire. Hell i never tried a veleno designs flashlight either i just really like how they look. And i know a couple guys with them and they always comment on liking them. I have only been hesitant to get one because 70 is quite a bit more than the Fenix E11 i love so much LOL.

Here is some pictures, not my pictures, but the bottom light is the quantum D2

4th from left. Smaller than the AA battery and puts out 120 lumens

Comes with USB charger.

With tritium installed. Making it easy to find the light at night, even if its been in a dark bag for days.

Finished watching banshee season 1. Excellent show. Not for kids LOL. Lots of violence and sex. But each episode got a little more interesting than the last. Thats the way to do it. I hate when you start a show and the pilot is phenomenal but each episode is progressively worse than the last.

Its only about 3am, so i think ill go ahead and watch episode 1 of season 2 as well. Then i wanna do a little more playing with this etcher while the house is quiet and peaceful!! The wife is going to wake up to find her car has been stripped and etched all over because i ran out of practice blades LMAO
