I like the James Gibson knife. I'd still rather have one of his forged ones, but that is a handy design.

I make iced tea with decaff tea, green tea, and a single bag of orange spice black tea. I add a 1/4 cup of sugar to a gallon pitcher. It makes a great low caffeine, low sugar blend. I was able to pretty much quit soda last year, I was drinking about 5 cans of coke zero a day.. I have a can of pepsi throwback every once in a while now, but finally broke the hold sodas had on me for years..

Sounds good i may need to give that a try!!

It is sweet, but I'm afraid the contoured handles wouldn't fit my mitts. I like that the scandi has a straight handle, like a Kephart. Straight handles, even if a bit short, still work out for me. Also, I noticed that the scales on these knives are more rounded.

This is the original Gibson that the design comes from:

I do the like the Gibson colab. knife, but from the pricing I could find, they are a bit on the expensive side..

Hey G-shark, how goes the new job?

Busy! I'm two weeks in now and I'm doing fine. I have to process A LOT of information though. Lot's of stuff I have to learn through e-learning applications. I've had the opportunity to sit next to a few colleagues and see how they do stuff and deal with customers. I'm starting to get a view on the possibilities, both of what we can offer the customer but also personnally, more carreer oriented. I'm psyched and am looking forward to learning more and to do stuff completely independent. That will take a while, but we'll get there. Step by step!
Thanks for asking, Lee ;)

Even though I didn't ask, I'm glad to hear it G-shark.

Very cool, glad you are enjoying it. I do enjoy the e-learning programs. I have access to 1000's of courses through my part time job and the best part is they pay you to complete classes, so it is like a whole other part time job that I can do when ever I feel like it form home.. plus occasionally I learn something too :D
Glad to hear you are getting settled in and enjoying it, having a job you can stand is a blessing, having one you enjoy is just bacon covered chocolate cake, lol.

Good afternoon/morning/whatevertheheckthetimeis folks, Looks like no more word from the KA-BAR camp? Oh well... those new Esee's sure looked nice ;)

Nice quote. While being blessed (new way of looking at it, for sure), I've not tasted of the Trifecta (bacon, cake, chocolate) in some great while.

Thanks granite!

The e-learning is cool. One of the priorities for me was the possibility to keep on learning/educating myself. Now I have that opportunity for both job-related as well as totally unrelated subjects. All for free, but the job-related ones are during my working hours so I have to see what I can do and when I can do it because I do have other responsabilities already. Other courses are during the evening and are free, but not paid either so they're at your own initiative. I can definitely live with that and have already enrolled in a Spanish class for a couple of months from now on (as well as some basics in stocks, obligations, options, warrants etc.). Good quote too, and you're right. I'm really happy with the colleagues too. They all seem nice people so that does improve the atmosphere at work, which makes you go to work in a good mood every day.

Make that Pepsi and bacon and and not only would i never leave, we would weed out all those "coke" drinkers :D

:D

Hey now, it's their fault. There are some areas of the South that still have Pepsi Dry Counties and have to drink Coke. Ask The Guyon, he'll tell ya. :D

Well a couple extra spoon fulls of sugar and leave the bottle open overnight and coke will taste just like pepsi. :D

The gibson ESEE does look very nice, as well as the ESEE scandi grind. I would not refuse either one. :p

I like pepsi, but prefer mountain dew or root beer.

Its a little depressing Ethan has nothing new out for 14, however, its Ka-bar doing that and not Ethan. I am totally stoked about 15 for reason we all know of by now. :)

Not really a fan of Snody, but the Boss blades do seem rather interesting.

I really need some bacon covered choclate cake in my life at the moment. :(

LOL :D

That's Pepsi Free. Where throwback Pepsi has a shot of Jack Daniels in every can. :D

After working for a true @$$hole for 5 years, not working there is a blessing.. he was the kind of guy that seeks out conflict because he just plain gets off on it.. I worked there to support my wife getting her degree, it paid very well, but it was an abusive work enviroment.. for 3 years I told them I was quitting as soon as my wife graduated and they would laugh like I was joking.. well, I quit the day she got hired after graduation. I enjoyed the work, but got tired of being treated like trash. After wandering around for a couple years (and burning up my non-compete agreement) I got hired at the present place.. great company, very generous and the only place I have ever worked that said "get what you need" and meant it.. I also work part time for a large corporation, but my boss there is one of the nicest, thoughtful people on the planet and I only work there because she does.. when/if she leaves I will most likely quit too.
All in all, I am very happy where I work, I get good benefits and good pay and no one is breathing down my neck... some days it's not all chocolate and bacon, but most days it is pretty sweet.. :)
