I am going to have to agree with the Dr. Pepper group... BUT if they only sold whiskey in 12 pack cans... :D a man can dream.

buy twelve of the little one-shot bottles and invent a way to gang them together. Maybe a fancy paracord wrap. You'll make millions.... drunk.

I have had one in the cart multiple times, but never pulled the trigger.. It is a nice looking knife. Still want a Native 5 and Ritter mini-grip too..

Never tried a mini-grip, but the native5 is a great folder as well. I like a little longer blade than the native offers but that knife had a great handle on it.

I wish i would of grabbed the Vantage sooner, i had it in my cart for a long time as well, i was just skeptical because of the price. I figured S30V on a nice looking folder should cost more than 50-60 bucks. But i see nothing wrong with this folder, it feels like a way more expensive folder honestly.

I traded a benchmade presidio for the Vantage pro. The presidio may cost more but this Vantage is a way better knife in my opinion.

Work: A lot of days it seems like acting in a movie. You play your part as well as you can, even though the other actors are ruining the scene or worse the whole movie.

Havent been carrying a lot in the way of modern folders lately, but the vantage does interest me. I think its more of a price thing than anything. Still have the SYKCO 311, Case Yellow CV Sodbuster, SAK Farmer, and SAK classic riding around with me. A lot of modern folders just dont interest me as much anymore. Although some of my favorites that still sneak in the pocket from time to time are the Almar Eagle HD, Manix 2, Endura Wave, Benchmade 530, and a few others. Used to carry a couple different CS folders for work like the XL Clip Voyager, or my Modded Recon 1. Somedays some Kershaws... Coupled with a FB and a Multitool and buddy youre set. I think I may have a knife problem... lol

I feel so alone, I like Coke better than Pepsi.

I'm really not that picky and have a 12 pack of Coke and Throwback Pepsi.
When ordering out I'll order the house cola, whatever they have on hand. The only thing I lean toward is cola with real sugar vs corn syrup. I'll drink it now and then but real sugar rules over corn syrup. It's a half hearted Atkins thing.

yeah, i could use a whole lot of that...

what's funny, when i mumble about updating my resume or having agencies contact me, they respond by renewing my contract.

oddly, the guy most vocal about keeping me, is the same guy i'm having the most trouble with lately. i hope to work it out, getting a new job is a hassle, and they're likely to WANT to keep me, rather than me hustling.

but yeah, quitting in the face of people who laugh at you feels great. esp when they really needed you, but treated you like shit.

I worked at a couple call centers for one of the largest communication companies in the world. I worked my way up from a simple rep to managing many facets over several sites including consulting for some off shore places. I had the big office, desk, wore ties, was one of the youngest to do so, had the say, but chump pay. Couple that with conflicting moral decisions, bad corporate mgmt, and a horrible client, saw the writing on the wall, and well I quit. I had everyone and their dog beg and try to bribe me to stay but I knew what I was doing was right. After I quit within 6 months my HQ branch was closed down, then the rest of the company fell like dominoes. Not saying I was holding it all together, but once I left the dogs got out to play and made a mess of things. I am very proud of the work I did and it was hard to turn my back to that, but once the castle crumbled I laughed real hard and had a drink. STORY TIMES OVER! lol

Midway has synthetic youth stocks for the NEF/H&R line so I think I'll order a stock/fore end for the shotgun I picked up yesterday that I plan to cut down. The synthetic stock will save some weight and be more durable and my .243 and .45/70 handi's have synthetic too and I really like it. The other shotgun will get cleaned up and I'll refinish the stock, might as well refinish both so I'll have an extra wood set for the next one I bring home. I need a 20ga and a couple of .410's and whatever rifles happen to catch my eye.

I like pepsi, but prefer mountain dew or root beer.

I really need some bacon covered chocolate cake in my life at the moment. :(
Dew rocks....especially with bacon covered chocolate cake. Speaking of cake, did you know you can make almost any box cake with soda/pop/seltzer/tonic? Chocolate cake made with root beer....mmmmm. And no eggs or oil. Seriously...googley.

After working for a true @$$hole for 5 years, not working there is a blessing.. he was the kind of guy that seeks out conflict because he just plain gets off on it.. I worked there to support my wife getting her degree, it paid very well, but it was an abusive work enviroment.. for 3 years I told them I was quitting as soon as my wife graduated and they would laugh like I was joking.. well, I quit the day she got hired after graduation. I enjoyed the work, but got tired of being treated like trash. After wandering around for a couple years (and burning up my non-compete agreement) I got hired at the present place.. great company, very generous and the only place I have ever worked that said "get what you need" and meant it.. I also work part time for a large corporation, but my boss there is one of the nicest, thoughtful people on the planet and I only work there because she does.. when/if she leaves I will most likely quit too.
All in all, I am very happy where I work, I get good benefits and good pay and no one is breathing down my neck... some days it's not all chocolate and bacon, but most days it is pretty sweet.. :)

yeah, i could use a whole lot of that...

definitely better if they treat you like they want you to stay ALL the time...

That's vaguely similar to what happened to me in my last job. Although my immediate bosses were always quite decent, the company as a whole treated me and my ilk (which is also your ilk!) as expenses they'd rather not carry... Very unpleasant, and things got worse and worse for software engineers. So I quit to "become an oceanographer" in the words of my boss. He called HIS boss immediately who said "can you throw money at the problem?". Too late, I'd already decided, not turning back. Not after 8 years. They should have been throwing the money "at the problem" for years already. Knowing they COULD have been treating you better, at least comp-wise, is almost a second-order GFY on the last day. Oh well. People started streaming out after me. :D
I've never had the pleasure...and in my present job, it's mostly the faceless corporation and dumbass policies made by unreachable people. Quitting would certainly be self-emancipation, but it would feel more like crewing my friends. Managers....well, they're never there long enough to give the ones who deserve it a GFY, and the ones that don't deserve it are also gone too soon. When I quit, it'll be for myself and no one else. I've had a lot of time to think about this while I've been at home recovering from back stuff. I've been out 2 months and I'll return to a new manager, who I have not met, in another month. Might even be the same one there now. 19 years, I am thinking time for a change......
hopefully this isn't deal spotting.. I am looking to add one of THESE (click here) to my BoB.. It would be usefull for any number of situations...
especially if you don't want to be noticed in a crowd. People will purposefully look the other way to avoid seeing an otherwise normal looking adult wearing an emergency clown nose. I am putting one into my cart right now.

Too lazy to take pictures right now, but i just got in my Buck Vantage Pro and its great!! The flipper works great for me. The pocket clip is not uncomfortable to me like on most folders. I loved the Manix2 but the pocket clip was uncomfortable when you really grip up on the knife. No matter how i grip the Vantage it doesnt bite into my hand! I do miss the finger choil area from the manix 2 though. I know a lot of people dont care for choils but i like having my finger up on the blade while doing detailed work. I like the grind on this Vantage and its really sharp. This is a great folder!!
Cool! Do you notice that the micarta seems "sharp" on the handle? Mine also has a significant amount of blade play; I haven't disassembled it to investigate but I am curious how they hid the blade stop. I really like the steep edge geometry, and the overall aesthetics of the knife. It looks and feels (other than the blade play) like a more expensive knife. Then again, I got mine used, and it wasn't that expensive.

*lol*
"If I'm gonna drink carbs, they're gonna be REAL carbs!" (or something) hehehehee.

:D

Well if you're gonna drink corn carbs, you need to thin it with a carb thinner aka distilled spirits or it could cause constipation. With those odds why take chances. :D

Guinness chocolate cake is divine!

This is huge. Apparently the USPS in conjunction with FedEx Smartpost have developed time travel. I can only imagine the confusion this is going to cause.

"Let's send this one back a year and a half. And what the hell, let's send it to TEXAS!!!!"

ESEE scandi at SHOT. The other is a James Gibson/ESEE collab. ESEE launched a "Camp Lore" brand.:

I don't not want one of those. James Gibson is a nice guy and super knowledgeable.
He won the Jerry Fisk knife rodeo at a past Becker Gathering using my BK-5. I wish I could take his bushcraft class down at Jeff's place, but the timing is bad.
