Mornin', lunatics!

I just wanted to win JT's bet. :D
(oh wait, you said 'most', not 'all' - dangit)

I very seldom use strong definitive words like "always" "never" "all" "none" etc... I like to leave myself a bit of wiggle room ;) There's usually at least one weirdo who wants to bang Mrs. Howell or the Skipper...

Hmmmm...thinking about re-handling this beast and cleaning it up a bit. What say you? Will I kill the original by doing my own thing with it?

I say go for it. I doubt it's worth a million dollars as a collectible. Clean it up a bit, slap some nice new scales on it and use it! Heck, if you don't wanna mess with with, maybe we can work out some kinda deal...

Why ever'bOdy picken' on dey MAIL.men?

Not me. Sometimes I think USPS hates everyone but me... I send out quite a few packages on a regular basis and I've been extremely lucky so far (knock on wood).

FedEx, not so much... nearly every time I've dealt with them has been a nightmare. I once chased a $1500 acoustic guitar back and forth across the county for two weeks... in the middle of winter in WI... while it bounced around in the back of trucks from warehouse to warehouse and froze and thawed and shrunk and swelled... it was extremely frustrating because the dang thing was so close I could practically smell it... nothing like a few splits right down the back to "modify" the tonal qualities of a fine musical instrument :grumpy:

Speaking of Thirstday, I'm celebrating with some Noah's Mill bourbon. Very nice indeed. Fully bodied, complex and great tasting!

Never heard of it, I'll keep an eye out for that. I was enjoying a few sips of Evan Williams white label last night. Good stuff... especially at $20/handle.

I talked to the school first they had a person in financial aid that just deals with Vets. You can find out a lot on that site you have to make some choices that you cant change. You may be able to get the Voc Rehab its maybe the best of all the plans. Talk to someone before you fill the form out just so you understand it. I went with the Post 911 but it all depends on what you qualify for and what kind of school you are wanting to do.

Thanks for the info bud!! I will talk with the benefits counselor and see what they say then go down to the school. Thanks again.

I new someone was going to mention that , I am home schooled but my sisters aren't, if they are home then it's hard to do school while my sisters are prancing around the house while I'm doing school. My dad is home today also, so everybody is home and nobody but me is working, I bit distracting don't you think?
No. Actually there were lots of times when I was home schooled I had to work through distraction. It's all about dedication.

why are you home-schooled, but not your sisters? Your parents don't think you need to be socialized? Hm.
Nobody but you is working.... good practice for the REAL world! :D

Have fun, Dubz! Looking forward to your usual fabulous pics.

I ordered a Martin that was delivered by UPS.....
pine_marten.jpg

......during a hot Summer. It also bounced around the country side, stopping at six pack shops, driving the UPS truck through the woods. The Martin was delivered in time to go out and play in the evening. As the tunes and rounds of beer went by, I noticed the Martin kept singing out of tune. I look down at my newly acquired animal and see he was wearing dentures and the poligrip holding his bridge was letting go, lifting off of his body.
So if you're gonna play country music, you gotta have a Martin in the band, And if the Martin is singing with loose dentures, he'll be singing songs with words that no one understands. :D

I was publicly schooled for the first marking period and my mom said that if I got at least an average grade of 95.00% and didn't like being public schooled then she would home schooled, nine weeks and 97.25% later, I was home schooled. My sisters are both in high school, my mom is going to put all three of us through high school whether we want to or not.

Ha-ha-ha! So true!

Very much so!!

A Martin is not needed...

"If you're gonna play in Texas, you gotta have a fiddle in the band."

(Alabama, 1984)

Edit: If you could teach the Martin to play the fiddle, you'd have something there...dentures or not.

We home schoolers are tired of that old bluff. I score at the level of the average 12th grade student on the CAT, (yes, we still have tests), and I am in the 98th percentile of Colorado 8th graders.

Like BF isn't a little social? And we have friends, too...

And yes, I will be attending a "regular" high school.

If you want an interesting read, I suggest: Dumbing Us Down, by John Taylor Gatto. It is what convinced my parents to home school.

:)

I wouldn't have a life if I was homeschooled. I've met most of my best friends through school, and if it wasn't for them id be getting fat, playing xbox right now...

I haven't owned a video game (or played a complicated one). I played pacman a couple of times on the arcade.

I tell friends that I play "real life." It makes them think for a minute. ;)

We home schoolers

you're a home schoolee. ;)

Yes, BF is a LITTLE social. And make no mistake, I love it for that. However online communities don't teach you what it takes to navigate in meat-space. I'm not saying you personally lack that 'schooling', but certainly electronic media are a far cry from reality for any number of reasons.

As an adult with a graduate degree and an accumulated 21 years 'normal' school environments, I certainly don't need a lesson on the shortcomings of formal education from a fellow 1/3 my age. I could teach a course on the subject... No, you wouldn't know that offhand, but that kind of brings me back to the socialization point, which I was only making in jest, BTW (this being the snark thread and all).

three cheers for that.
I played video games as a kid, but haven't had much interest in decades. Now they're an occasional novelty.

I have a ton of games i want to play, but middle aged with a 3 year old leaves about zero time for anything.. Hoping to build a new computer this year to be able to play some Battlefield 4, but I am not holding my breath either.

I know how that goes, Lee. I usually get one new game a year...either Madden or one of the Battlefield series. I then get one weekend filled with all the gaming I can handle and then it's enough and I put in 5-10 hours the rest of the year!

I was home schooled, and I went to public school. While getting picked on and harassed at public school DID suck, it made me a better person. What Daizee says about BF being a little social is very true. This is a small cross section of a group of similar minded people. Not saying they are a bad influence, or even that being on here regularly is a bad idea. However it isn't going to promote sociological growth.

Those of you old enough to partake, watch the Movie 43 clip about the home schooled kid. Damn near pissed my pants the entire skit!

One of the brilliant things about getting through life with no kids, plenty of time to play my games. And eat good food without having to share.

Morning friends, seems like yesterday just flew by... woke up too early, did too much, went to bed late. The wife and I have been updating and fixing our home a little bit at a time. Well, this includes all new plumbing fixtures down to the drain in the tub. Took the old one out with a hammer and a chisel but needed a drain/tub wrench to put the new one back in right, and well just because you dont have, doesnt mean you cant do. Walked outside with my SAK Farmer, and a 1/2" paddle bit, came back in with this.

Worked really well.
