I dont know I have worn out 2 belts so far. I had it cut out before the gathering but the grinding was all tonight a few hours this eve.
 
Hell I dont know trying to get the blade done lol. How do you free hand the distal taper or am I missing something? Wish Tim was closer ;)

I'm not sure how others do it, but Todd does it all by hand. Basically just eyeballing it, but he has a pretty calibrated eye. I myself haven't gotten near that competent yet. He's actually pretty lit right now I hear.
 
Show scores so far have been minimal, but all Dozier and all D2.
Ka-Bar ran a show special on the Phat Bobs in D2, and I picked up one of those.
And I got a Dozier Hunter made by Bob Dozier for his brother Phil back in the mid-90's.
Phil had just put it out to sell when I cruised by the Dozier table.

Guyon, nice score on the hunter. That thing is beautiful

Psyop, you could mark the spine of your knife with what you want the taper to be and then use that as a guide. Your stock is fairly thick, so I don't think it would be too hard to mark it somehow. Maybe put some tape on the spine and then cut out of the center what you want to leave and then mark it, pull the tape off and grind away. There's probably a better way, but its all I could think of right now.
 
ac, sounds like you're hooked up on fatwood. Just a heads up, for future reference, that I've also found it sold by the box at Lowe's.
 
Thanks for the heads up Guyon. We don't have that store here, but there is one in a town 90 miles from here that I get to pretty often. I'll have to look for a big box next time I'm there.
 
Having fun so far. Broke my glasses and made a friend. Kay thinks the mylar field repair looks great. I'm not that happy with it. The snake is getting a little too friendly too. That is all.
