I've been slighted on a trade that cannot be reversed...

Don't really have a dog in this fight... But maybe both parties can come out happy and learn from this trade.

Remember to ask questions and not assume, and a trade is not a trade until both parties are happy. This is not what most of us do for a living... its what we do for FUN!!

If you are interested I will sharpen it at no cost AND I will cover return shipping!

Let me know if I can help.

Tom

That awfully nice of you bro. Still having a boat load of fun with that orange hinderer eh.

take care

The problem with the blade steel is I always thought the BM530 only came in 154CM. If I'd known different I would have definitely have asked.

Thank you very much Tom, I think I might be a fool to turn down one of your legendary sharpening jobs (for now), but hopefully this will be resolved and I both parties will be happy.

Let this serve as a lesson to all: THE DEAL IS NOT COMPLETE UNTIL ALL PARTIES ARE HAPPY.

maybe the other guy can pay to have BM re-blade the knife. Since it is a current production model it should be no problem. It shouldn't run more than 30-35 bucks to have it done.

I agree with the last sentiment, but realistically you didn't ask about the blade steel. I do agree that it was the fault of the other individual when he traded your knife away.

Any one of the below would be great imo to your situation.

- Other trader buys a psk and sends it to you
- Other trader takes back this knife and gets you a new knife 530

OR the best one of them all send it to TOM and use the knife, because steel is steel Tom's grinding skills are of the charts . After Tom is through you won't be able to tell it's not 154cpm

No, let this be a lesson to all not to PRESUME anything and if you are lacking in knowledge about the blade you are trading for, ask the right questions and enlighten yourself on the item you are trying to acquire. Dont put the responsibility on the other guy! Whats he supposed to give you lessons on knife steel too?

THats not his fault that you "thought the blade steel..........."

I thought when i joined they said whining was in whino and cheese or something like that? He offered you a RAT 3 to fix your hurt feelings! You had better take it before you offend him and you get ZILTCH! He THOUGHT he was trading one knife for another and now he is kicking in another to make you happy! Get a grip quick!

And " I asked for my knife back..." thats obviously not happening either so man up and quit crying and take the RAT 3 and resharpen the blade! If your problem is that you dont know how, Benchmade always resharpens and reprofiles for free. And dont ask Benchmade to pay for the shipping as i think they will tell you to get lost! :D

This belongs in the whino and cheeseo or where ever the whining and crying is!

For as "hard" as we use our pocket knives the kind of steel the blade is made of really is not that big a deal. If all you plan to do is EDC it I am sure that the difference in steel will hardly be noticable.

But if you are a steel snob.......................................................

With one post (this one) you should really think before you tell other member where to post and how to feel. This part of the forum is specifically set up to handle disputes that occur in the trading and selling forums. If you don't understand the rules we trade and sell by here at Bladeforums, then I strongly request that you do not participate in any trading, selling, or buying. It's the attitude you present above that deteriorates this forum.

Back on topic:
I am in communications with the guy I traded with, and he said he would see what he could do about getting the PSK back. At this point, he has exibited no anger towards me about wanting to reverse the deal, and is making an effort to make me happy. If I get it back or not, I will be happy, He has put forth the effort to even up this deal and I think working with him won't be hard.
Thanks guys,
Michaelmcgo

Please take tom up on this offer...its very kind and Generous and trust me when you get that knife back you will have a light sabre...

I will see if I get the PSK back in the next few days. If not, I will take Tom up on the offer and be happy with my light saber!
I owned a TK-8 a while back (had to sell to pay some bills: stupid bills) I was afraid to use it because of all of the radiation associated with splitting atoms.
Thanks Tom!

I don't think the other party "tried" to be deceitful, maybe inexperienced &/or made a mistake, but he's seemed to be upfront & honest in my experience with him.

However, I will say this FWIW. If I get a knife or knives in trade before the other person gets theirs, I will check it out to see what it's like & its condition, but I won't carry/use/trade/sell it, until I know they're happy on their end, plain & simple. I even email them telling them that I have it & like it, but won't do anything with it until they have theirs & are happy. It's simple as that & reduces problems/headaches in the future.

Having said this, I hope all ends well with this.

That is most generous of you Tom. You truly are a great guy just for that offer. I managed to get the PSK back and have since shipped it back to him. I was never asked the blade steel before trade and did not realize I had put very good conditon as opposed to good condition. That said, if he would have taken you up on your offer that 530 would have gone from good to fantastic condition. Oh well, what can you do, you can't please everyone! Thanks again and thanks to everyone that understood that trades don't always go smooth and didn't try to label me as a villain in this matter.

It's good to see that you did the right thing.

Kudos to you and to the person who was also understanding enough to return the PSK to you without a hassle.

You understand that you're shafting the man who was traded the PSK now?

He had nothing to do with your "misunderstanding" but now he's out also.

You made assumptions which were not sound.

Thank you very much for your demeanor and action Dutch_0311. I have been slighted before on here, and this felt much like that at first. Your actions prove you are a stand-up guy and I am sorry for misreading you and your intentions at first.
I have learned the lesson to ask more questions first, I hope it will prevent this kind of situation in the future.
Thanks again,
Michaelmcgo
