Well I screwed up a vanax blade. Instead of a 8 inch blade, its 6.25 inches. I followed the original plan of a 6 inch blade while looking at the plan saying 8 inch kitchen knife. On A POSITIVE NOTE. That means it's up for grabs. 0.080 thick Vanax 60.5HRC Will be FULL CONVEX Ground to crazy thin. A real kitchen laser. Will have RCF (rubberized carbon fiber) handles. Unless you want something else. Goal price is $400. It's going to heat treat tomorrow. This was an expensive lesson of PAY ATTENTION YOU IDIOT.
Ohh I know. I'm posting it here and on my Instagram. The client was very understanding and said he can wait for the full size blade. He allowed me to post it for sale.
I should be cutting into it next week. I have a HUGE Z-Tuff Bowie that I need to get cut out. That takes priority at the moment. But I am pretty damn excited for that Vanadis 8.
Used 2 full cutoff wheels cutting out that bowie!!!! Daaaayum that's a lot of steel to cut. I'll Post pics tomorrow once the final shape is ground.
MAJOR UPDATE!! BOOKS OPEN FOR THESE STEELS. Z-A11 CPM 4V Vanadis 8 Elmax (0.220 stock) (0.150 stock) Due to some recent events I am able to open books for these steels. Let's do this!!!
Are all these knives you're making 'standard' models like the Apex EDC, or are you making a lot of unique, custom-order designs? I'd love to see pics of them!
