Scooped up this Imperal Barlow today :)

I have a few of those, though I spurned them for a long time because I was scandalized that an illusory bolster should be stamped Barlow. I have some big ones that I was going to rehandle and rebolster, but that's a lot of work, and they're fine as they are.
Very interesting Jer  I would love to read something about the contract knives that were made in Japan during that period
I wonder if anyone was keeping notes.
I suspect this one is fairly early post-war, because although it's fine, there's a lot about it that feels just a little off.

Same here Jer, at one time I completely ignored Richards knives

Yes, quality wasn't always good in Japan. Case in point :D

AG Russell is making these bird-and-trouts again, but there's no point asking Goldie for a replacement sheath. I've broken the belt clip off of three or four of them.

Grabbed this big TEW Sheepsfoot today. It's sharp, but someone made a real mess of the edge

Still a handsome knife. And speaking of messed up edges, this one has seen some rough grinding.
I don't remember what I was looking for when this turned up, but I bought it at an estate sale at an old farmhouse quite a few years ago, with a Schrade stockman that had only one broken point.

Thanks a lot buddy, that has some great character, and I like what you've done to it, looks like a variant of one of Charlie's Ancients! :D
