I am saddened by this thread. I know both Bill and Jeff and they are both good people. Both Bill & Jeff are ex-military and have a passion for making hard use survival and camp knives. I suspect if they had met under different circumstances they might have been friends.

Tuf, posting a photo of Jeff and his wife without permission is not cool.

Everyone who posts or spouts bullshit without knowing both guys needs to STFU. It is one thing to post "I know Bill, he is a good guy who makes great knives." It is wrong to say I don't know Jeff but he is .....

I've talked to both Bill & Jeff today and I think they are both going to drop this issue.

Actually, nobody needs to "stfu". Sorry your buddy is getting ragged in this thread, but you're not doing him any favors. Though, I'll agree posting a picture of his wife is not a good thing to do. But, regardless, people get talked about all the time in GB&U. It's never been a requirement for people to know them personally before passing judgement in the past, and it's damn sure not in this case.

Just as an example, I don't know Anthony Weiner, but I can watch his words and actions and make my own judgements about him. Unless you're a rare saint among us (do tell if so) I'm willing to bet you've said some things about plenty of people in your lifetime that you've never met but have strong feelings about due to their beliefs, words or actions; be they politicians, public figures, etc. I don't know why this fellow should be any different. I'm basing my opinions on the words and vague threatened actions he delivered to a friend of mine whose word I've been given no cause to doubt in about ten years of knowing him.

If you think this other gent is a good and decent fellow who's getting a bum rap based on a misunderstanding, then you can stop at making that statement in an adult fashion and perhaps do some good in representing him in a better light. I'm afraid, however, that telling me at least (I'd never speak for anyone else on the thread) to STFU is not going to alter my perception of this man one iota, and will succeed only in eliciting the following response: make me, son.

Thanks for acting as sort of a mediator. I think it's going to be a win win for Bill and Jeff.

Threatening to invoke the wrath of active duty military personnel is a crime Chuck. Really not a good sign of intelligence or mental stability in any case.

Ok guys. I have posted what I needed to and I am gonna let this settle. As long as Jeff Crowner stays out of my world, I will stay out of his. Closing this thread down will hopefully let me decompress on this crap. Again thanks for all of your support
