His profile is hidden so I don't know for sure, but he probably created a bunch of fake accounts to give himself fake feedback.

I had watched JKnight1's posts with interest. A brand new member with all the best knives for sale. I was just about convinced he must be legit (because of the feedback) when I saw this thread.
On another note, I thought all this F&F and Plus 3% nonsense had been banned on BF. Also, no notes whatsoever on PayPal. My last 3 purchases from USA Made Blade were paid with PayPal. Is the No Notes thing a way to strip the buyers protection?

Yep no response. Paid him 500 bucks thru venmo yesterday
Did you pay with a credit card? Call your CC company and tell them it was Fruad.
You get your money back and your CC goes after the money.

Either way, if I pay G&S or F&F, I use a CC. I prefer the protection of my CC company, over PayPal!

I've had it happen through ebay and PayPal G&S..
I told PayPal, opened a claim and called my CC company.
I had my money instantly. The CC company dealt with the rest.

Now if you just use your bank account. Call them. Should work the same way.

IMO, it's why I pay them. Like paying insurance or a lawyer.

Edit. I had my dealings with this seller. Fpr a Spyderco Autonomy 2.. "like new, never used"..
It's in the Jswish thread.
Tho I got the knife, it was Well used. His pics are lies, just as much as he is a theif

Those asking for F&F don't want notes that show they are actually selling items, and should be using G&S. Since they are F&F transfers they do not have any protection from PP.

F&F had always been allowed. "Net to me" was banned a bit ago (sellers have to do the math). The no notes thing isn't a rule. People say it because if you're caught selling knives, PP will ban you. There's no scam with that as far as I'm aware.

Sorry to hear and thanks for the advice 👍

Not if it's a G&S transaction, because they are always covered. But I would guess lack of notes make it harder for PayPal to accurately resolve a dispute, should one arise. But with F&F, then yes, as stated by Peter Hartwig:

Those asking for F&F don't want notes that show they are actually selling items, and should be using G&S

No notes, is because paypal is locking accounts, of ppl selling knifes.
So if you put "knife" in the notes, PayPal can and will lock the account

I think there is more to the story here. PayPal terms of service does not prohibit using their service to pay or get paid for "knives", only "certain weapons or knives regulated under applicable law".

PP will absolutely NOT ban you for selling knives. TONS of knives are bought and sold every day on eBay through PayPal. There are knife companies - member here - who literally sell hundreds of knives a year, and every one is paid through PayPal. If you managed to buy one of the BF traditional forum knives, you paid for it by PP.

PP WILL ban you for selling knives and trying to avoid their fees by falsely claiming your transactions are F&F when they are actually G&S. Which is what too many knife sellers here do. You do 80 PP transactions a year (for knives or anything else) and every one is F&F and you don't think that sets off any alarms with them?

If someone has his address please post it here- he has been known to scam in trades as well.

did you get made whole on your deal with him?

1. File a case with Venmo. 2. Call Venmo, bring the case to the phone tell them this ahole has been selling weapons/ knives over the internet. 3. Post his inform. here so we know to avoid him. At last, Venmo will ban him and lock all his money. There is a chance you'll get your money back, worth trying.

That’s a bit of a stretch I think… and a very very time-consuming process for something that really doesn’t matter to most people.
Jeremy Swisher is an organized and persistent scammer on his 3rd banned account in a year...making a few more is hardly inconceivable even if it was a "very very time-consuming process". He's ripped off Bladeforums members for hundreds of dollars, that certainly matters to me🤷‍♂️

You can still see feedback when someone has their profile hidden. Click their username and then Click their feedback score.

I thought about that too, but many of the deals were with recognizable names and or with positive feedback greater than his.

He likely just played the numbers game. Do enough transactions and you'll eventually get feedback.

Pretty sure he means feedback score, not being scammed.

But I think feedback score does matter to more people than not, at least to some degree.

I don't think this clown created other accounts but if he did, it was likely just a few with mostly real transactions to buff up his score.
That play is still doable, but not exactly feasible to make it look organic, especially since the feedback score only goes up the on first feedback each individual person gives you.
