Can't undo 2 years of neglect in a few posts.Sorry to be skeptical, but it's going to take a whole lot more than a few encouraging words coming from a GSM employee to convince me that this ship can be turned around in the right direction.
The sad part about it is… other than a few hiccups like the machete sharpening issue, the quality under GSM has been stellar in my experience. My 3V Recon Scout is flawless. And I mean literally flawless. My only complaint about it is the sheath. My GSM era Talwar and Espada are two of the finest finished knives that I own.
They jumped the main hurdle with the transition…maintaining quality. The service end is where they dropped the ball.
Shaun, do you get out and use these tools on a regular basis? What’s your EDC look like?Valid point..... I'm just saying these are damn nice for the price.
I’m guessing not one of mine. I don’t think he’s a fan.Shaun, do you get out and use these tools on a regular basis? What’s your EDC look like?

My EDC changes weekly, but I mostly carry my Lynn Thompson limited edition Oyabun. The AD-15 and AD-10 are regulars as well. As of lately I have been carrying the new Engage 3.5”
Everything about GSM's response to this entire situation disgusts me.
Between the silence of "JimiSlash," Shaun Cazin's contributions to this thread, and this past gem of careful attribution from Keith Beam (who's "Demco?")
I have a very good picture of how GSM treats former Cold Steel personnel.
If that's how they treat longtime employees, why would I expect that they'd treat me any better as nothing but a longtime customer/fan?
Good luck with your "influencers," GSM. I'll take my future business elsewhere.

What’s the deal with the bandana covering his eyes like that? He looks like a Moron!![]()
That last minute of that video revealed so many of life's secrets. I needed that.check out @2:15 mark to find out "waas sappening"
''KNOW YOUR CUSTOMER''We are knife nerds Shaun, you’re not going to get any of us to buy anything that uses 3Cr. That’s gas station knife junk.
The design team boss just walked in and asked “Who took out that middle handle pin?” I wasn’t taking the heat for that one.GSM's "three person design team"..

That’s is the main disconnect. We are not the type of customer that would be satisfied with a $30 blister pack. The average member here may have $1000-10000 in Cold Steel products. Including many of your higher end items and we like to use them. For us that can be a significant investment. We want to know that the manufacturer will stand behind their product and help us to source a replacement part when something wears or gets damaged. We are making investments in quality lifelong tools we are not looking for decorative wall hangers or disposable razor blades. Cold Steel use to produce reliable tools that we could confidently take with us to dangerous locations and GSM seems uninterested in continuing that tradition. And that’s why this has been such a bummer. There’s a model or two I wouldn’t mind picking up. If the quality is still there, I’m in…but if customer service is failing miserably, I’m not interested. Customer service and warranty are huge factors when I buy a knife.
