that was my little camillus scout knife! I loved it for years and years sir. carried it all through the scouts. was given to me as a gift from my pops. I hope it brings you some good use and joy!

I'm glad you shared that with me. A knife that meant that much to you will be one that I will cherish. I don't know why you would want to pass something like that along, but if you ever desire to have it back, simply say the word, and I will send it back to you with no delay.

I had neglected it. put it in the knife drawer and stopped using it. I probably hadn't used it for 3 years. figured someone out there could give it the use and love it deserved! use it in good health brother. if you ever stop using it pass it along to another deserving person who will keep using it.
 
stubs is great! hasn't been out to get dirty yet, been too busy working. :( hopefully will have some play time during winter break. then again, i have my new ewok to break in as well....choices, choices.

oh, and that is one of my lanyards, that "ranger" bead can be pulled off the top if you like and threaded on a separate piece of cordage like I did on the Nagara Outdoors fan posted about not so long ago as well as being used as is.
 
JKTBOG was waiting when I got home today and it is PACKED FULL. I chose a bottle opener ring and a couple of nicely made paracord pieces. After adding a few miscellaneous goodies, the box has been re-sealed and will be on the way to TPVT tomorrow.

box received. and wow. BIG. lots of stuff in it, for sure. gonna need some time to go through it.
 
ok, i had a chance to get through all of it. some cool things in there.

so, i of course took the coolest. :eek: :D actually, that is not true...i left something pretty awesome in there. hard to do, but i received something similar recently. and, i will leave it at that. ;)

anyway...here is my loot (fire sticks, storm matches, leather stamps/punches and a little ceramic sharpener).

thanks everyone. i have added some things that someone(s) should like. i think i might keep the box an extra day or two. i think i am going to make something to also add to it.

P.S. whoever added those stamps...could you tell me what the curved end is for on that chisel/punch? feel free to PM/email me if you wish to remain anonymous. thanks!
 
I didn't add them, but I suspect you're talking about the swivel knife -- which is used to cut lines when doing DEEP tooling. The "saddle" is where your finger rides while guiding it like a pen over the tracings on the leather.
