JK Fantasy Football sign up thread

How did Calvin end up my lowest scoring starter? Looks like I might of lost my favored rb 2 as well, hope he's okay.

Also, what's going on with denver?

Week 1 is in the books, congratulations to the winners, consolation to the losers, remember it’s better to win the last 6 weeks then the first 6. It’s our first PPR year and I think I like it, it seems to make the score lines more sensational anyway. All in all it was a pretty good week of football though there were some WR and RB injuries that might have some scrambling for the Wavier Wire this week. On the positive side it seems like the TE position is looked good, it may be less of a fantasy wasteland when the high hopes for Gronk and Kelce come true and their scores are rivaled by the likes of Jordan Reed, Austin Sefferian-Jenkins and Tyler Eifert. But without further rambling here’s the weekly roundup:

English Muffins Vs Texas Pugs

While the Pugs put up a mighty effort, and despite what would seem like the natural order of things, it was the muffins who ate the Pugs this week. Unfortunately for the Pugs Andrew Luck and a dazzling stat line from Deandre Hopkins weren’t enough as CJ Anderson may have sprained his toe and Denver seems to have sprained their offence, Andre Johnson had a surprisingly slow start on his new team and not even JJ Watt could save the Texans or the Pugs from a week 1 loss. While AJ Green didn’t do much and Megaton didn’t seem like his old self a lucky TE score was enough, for week 1 at any rate. Muffins 130 Pugs 107

Kentucky Aardvarks Vs Dakota Beagles

In the battle of two states critters the Aardvarks were just about able to hold off the Beagles with one of the week’s highest scores. Both posted numbers good enough to win against all but one other team this week. The shelled monsters of the bluegrass state were also beneficiaries of the TE bonanza with Travis Kelce putting up a 28 point game (and another on their bench in the form of ASJ.) It also didn’t hurt that Keenan Allen caught more balls in a single game than any other charger ever has. On the other side the Beagles will probably feel pretty happy with their team. When Jimmy graham posts a 17 point game and isn’t a top 4 TE it’s probably best just to write it off to fate, what more can a poor huntin’ dog do? Aardvarks 134 Beagles 130

Jackhammer Vs Bush Did Deflatgate

In a shocking twist Bush put the Jackhammer into the ground by the end of Sunday with a couple more players left to go Monday. Both teams suffered an unfortunate loss to their receiving core, BDD losing Dez and Jackhammer forced to watch Desean go down without scoring a point. But don’t write the Jackhammer off to soon with a mad Tom Brady on his side and Cooks likely to start busting out any moment the Hammers are probably happy to wait for the best back in fantasy to come back from suspension in week 3. So I imagine they’ll be back to cracking pavement (if by pavement you mean fantasy teams) or chewing bubble gum in no time at all. BDD on the other hand had a handsome win with Adrian Peterson (the other best back in football) and the eagles DST to spare and while Petersons didn’t score many fantasy points he didn’t look like he’d lost any of his skills on Monday night. Bush did Deflategate 119 Jackhammer 106

Stoney Jabronies Vs Honey Badgers

While a lot of people might be impressed with Tyrod Taylor the Badgers might have reason to complain with a 0 catch 0 yard day for Sammy Watkins leaving the badgers out in the cold. A poor start to his last season by Steven Smith didn’t help either, but solid to great performance by the Badgers RB’s is something to lean on. This game was finally decided with the nail biting finish of the Falcons and Eagles and a huge game for Julio and a good fantasy day for Jordan Mathews, even if he did miss the game ending catch, solidified the Stoney Jabronies victory. The highest score this week and Arian Foster stashed on the bench, the Stoney’s are riding high into week 2. Stoney Jabronies. 155 Honey Badgers 112

MX Thunderballs Vs Sanchez Butt-Fumblers

The Thunderballs were able to pull out a victory despite a last minute surge monday night by the Butt-Fumblers and Carlos Hyde. A disappointing week from last year’s breakout star Odell Beckham and an aging Peyton Manning were just too much to make up for despite some great RB performances and another double digit TE game. This game saw both teams get strong performances from different positions as the Thunderballs suffered meager RB production but enjoyed a thriving WR core and Matt Ryan who was able to pull off two wins this week. It was enough to fend of the interminable Butt-Fumblers this time. MX Thunderballs 125 Sanchez Butt-Fumblers 115.

That's all folks, good luck in week 2

Great writeup, thanks!

I'm hoping a few of my no-shows will this week.

Thanks guys, writing it ups kind of a fun way to find out about those games I don't get to watch :)

For new owners I thought ID mention that there is a trade block. I see in by the first one to set my teams to so thought Id through out out there.

Best not to hit the panic button too early but my sure referring dropping get Stevie Johnson before week 1. Anyone else think Marcus is for real?

So T.Y. Hilton will play tonight. Now if I can only get 20 points out of him before that knee.....

Lol,, well anything could happen. Seriously, it depends on Hilton. If he's at his highest level that means Revis will be on him and probably free up targets for Moncrief.

have i mentioned how much i dislike the colts gm, defence, nah, 7 more wide recievers, that'll get it done.

shadd ya face ;P jking

some of us are still nursing and and 0 and 2 :(

weekly round up on it's way, soon as I think I'm able to control te biterness of last nights game :D

Injuries are starting to take their toll for some of our teams, while others are safely hording mid-season break outs coming back from injuries and others suffering hard losses to their core players. Never the less we still have some undefeated teams.

Kentucky Aardvarks vs The Honey Badgers

With their star wide receiver out and last weks re-break out, Keenan Allen, falling short against the Bengals not even Shady McCoy making it in the game could save the Aardvarks this week. Russell Wilsons late night tussle with Aaron Rodgers was the best performance for the shelled critters. They may just have to lick their chops and wait as it looks like Todd Gurly is getting close to making his NFL debut. The Badgers on the other hand gobbled up their first victory of the season despite a disappointing return by Mike Evans because outside of him the Badgers offence started to fire from the QB on down. Roethlisberger, sanders and Steven Smith were all high performing plays this week and while last year’s leading rusher might have been frustrated in his reunion with the cowboys his 10 points were all gravy for the Badgers first meal. Kentucky Aardvarks, 86, The Honey Badgers, 132.

Sanzex Butt-Fumblers Vs Texas Pugs

The Pugs might be the only people taking the colts fall on Monday night harder than one interim league manager we could mention. 14 points just isn’t what you want when you draft a top 2 QB. Still the number of 20 plus fantasy games on the Pugs bench is a reason to stay positive and if that doesn’t work I find blaming the colts general manager takes the edge off, a tip from me to you. Sanchez Butt-Fumblers have a right to be positively giddy as OBJ finally comes back to 2014 form and Jamal Charles does what Jamal Charles does, put up excellent fantasy numbers and run the hell out the ball, though his new fuming habit might be a problem for his actual team in fantasy he’s doing his job just fine. SBF did lose Romo this week, but they have a fine option on the bench. In any case here’s another first win in the books. Sanchez Butt-Fumblers 130, Texas Pugs 80.

MX Thunderballs Vs Jackhammer

Not even keeping the cardinals dst on the bench could keep this team down as the Thunderballs streak to a 2 and 0 record. How do you do that when you get only 1 point from your RB2, no problem, Antonio brown, problem solved. In fact, that’s a pretty good solution for any problem. Demaryius Thomas ain’t so bad either, and he comes up big as Peyton finally shifted back into the pistol and started putting points up on the board. Landry continues to be a great flex for this team. For the Jackhammers life isn’t so sweat starting 0 and 2 but James Jones looks to have been a productive pick up and TY Hilton should bounce back. In fact don’t cry for ye ole Hammers too much, not matter how much their bench looks like an emergency room, Deangelo Williams just put up two 30 point games running for the Steelers, and he’s about to be replaced by Le’veon Bell, a somewhat better back who catches the ball more often, and he’s riding the Jackhammers bench. Look out Pugs, the Jackhammers are ready to go for week 3. MX Thunderballs 129, Jackhammer 118

Dakota Beagles Vs Bush Did Deflategate

Some opening smack talk on this game proved devastatingly true as the Beagles open up their season 0 and 2. When you can’t trust two stud running backs like Jeremy Hill and Marshawn Lynch, it might just not be your week. Don’t worry though Beagles you’re not alone and at least they came out from the games healthy…(why Lacy, why!) anyway, 2 fumbles kept Hill on the sidelines for the latter half of the game leaving Gio Bernard to blow up on someone’s (ahem) bench. Amari cooper is a nice bright spot as he had his best fantasy game so far in his young career, he looks to be every bit the player we hoped he could be and should prove useful in the Beagles comeback tour. Tannerhil even came back to life this week but it wasn’t enough. In all fairness, nothing would have been this week as BDD put up this week’s highest score by close of business Sunday. Our highest scoring team charged to a 2 and 0 start with Aaron Rodgers Julian Edelman and Larry Fitzgerald coming back to the elite with a 3 touchdown game. Even Sproles was able to put up a 6 pointer to help BDD to a fine week 2 victory. Dez who? The BDD’s are chugging along just fine without him, not even Adrian Peterson scoring his first double digits of the season was needed, but is very likely welcome. Dakota Beagles 91, Bush Did Deflategate 151.

Stoney Jabronis Vs English Muffins

A late Monday run for the finish came up short as the Muffins put the full stop on a poor week 3 that resulted in the loss of their 1st round pick and 1 remaining running back as Eddie lacy went down under the Seahawks defense for the second season in a row. But with two 120 plus point games to start the season, a 1 and 1 record, someone should tell that guy to stop whining and get on with it. The Jabronies storm to a 2 and 0 start to the season with across the board high performances and near perfect team management, and while their running backs left something to be desired with two 8 point games, putting up 134 points with Arian Foster soon to return aint so bad either, and it’s doubtful the Jabronies are sweating it. When you have Julio jones and Gronk in this kind of form, you don’t sweat very often. English Muffins 125, Stoney Jabronis 134.
