JK FFL 2013 Season starting!

Well, we made it through the first week. Stoney's Jabronies kicked my butt. How'd everyone else do? Did your teams perform as expected?

Man - the week of NFL overachievers!

My contest with TPVT went down to the last three plays - literally. This was the lowest scoring matchup, and one of two this week with a margin of just one point.

Jackhammer and Brees went at it in what I would describe as the ups and downs matchup - and again, Brees was Jackhammered with a heartbreaking 91 to 92 loss.

That song from last year's nfl.com commecial kept going through my head as I lost in my "pay league" soundly (opponent had Peyton...) while my star WR, "megatron" put up a proud 3 points.

For week one - The Dakota Daggers, led by his crew of Jacksons and Johnsons did NOT get beat by a girl, anchored by career high play from Vick and the dark horse TE from STL, Cook. Whoda thunkit?

The Jabronis defeated last years champion in a matchup that saw our defending champion score 116 points and still lose. Career days out of AJ Green, Reggie Bush and Damryius Thomas pushed the Jabronis to a winning 123 points. Who would think that Damryius Thomas would score as much as Aaron Rogers?

Finally, in the biggest of the big dogs category, the Geodudes found the cache with Peyton Manning in his juggernaut 51 point, 7 td showing. 29 points out of Victor Cruz rounded out what can only be described as a dream fantasy week for the 'dudes with 156 points. KYe might have learned something about RGIII - but it would be hard to start Eli over RG, even knowing Eli put up a sturdy 35 points throwing mostly to mr. Cruz.

If the season goes like this, it will be interesting to watch - maybe painful at the same time.

...Brees was Jackhammered with a heartbreaking 91 to 92 loss...

And I KNEW, absolutely KNEW, I had him beat. I was only down by 3 points going into the Sunday Night game between the Cowboys and the Giants. All of Jackhammer's players were done and I had one player left, but one of the supposed "jewels" of my roster - Dez Bryant. No player on my roster had scored less than 4 points and all Dez had to do was earn 40 yeards or a single touchdown and the match was mine.

He gained 22 yards & no score for a total of 2 points. Sigh.

Well played Jack! :)

As a native New Yorker I was disappointed in the Giants performance but their one saving grace was neutralizing Dez Bryant! Just dodged that bullet!

So far, so good. Course I was off to a good start last year too and then crashed and burned at the end.

I would have been kicking myself all week if I'd have lost knowing I have Anquan Boldin on the bench and starting Lamar Miller in my flex spot who gave me a big ole 0 points.

Lost in my big money league because I took Boldin out at the last minute and put in Kenbrell Thompkins.

Just returned from a trip to Dallas to see the opener against the Giants. Had an awesome time... and yes, it helped that I had Victor Cruz and Jason Witten playing in the game :). The stadium is simply amazing.

"Victor Cruz and Jason Witten" these guys were not on my good side this week, and as for Manning, MANNING! sigh

all good fun though :)

Even tho he is one of my team's QB's and played GREAT well last week, I just can not cheer for Vick. I think my Beagle and my Dachshund agree! I'm starting big Ben this week even though he has his off field issues also. I wish Roger Staubach was still playing, now there was a roll model for sure! (And I Hate the Cowboys almost as much as the Packers!) GO GO BROWNS DEF/SPT THIS WEEK!
PS
two games decided by one point.....WOW;)

Week two wrap up -

Saintly Brees was in full beast mode, scoring 115 points for the biggest score of the week award, edging out the Daggers, who put up a mighty 105 in a losing effort.

The Badgers returned to championship form, scoring a decisive win against a Girl ;P

The Todd Squad put the smack down, scoring 99 points in the winner over Jackhammer, who had a very disappointing day from some very good players. You Knowshon did his best.....

KYe scored his first win of the season with a decent 27 points out of RGIII, even though the Jabronis had a good showing out of Matt Ryan, it was not enough.

Finally, the Geodudes outlasted JnJ in a nail biter that went down to the Sunday night game, but he hung on and handed JnJ a loss to take me to 1 and 1.

Geodudes take the lead by himself, with all but one of the rest of the league at 1 and 1. That girl needs to get a win!

Week 3 finds some of my key starters on the bench and some of my key back-ups questionable. And while Brees should put up good numbers against Az, he is going against the elder Manning this week. Not looking good!
