JK gift exchange

I didn't modify the pull, it was always strong.
I received the knife as an old beat up user from a pay it forward thread in general chat.

It was in rough shape, and took a bit of work to get it where it is now. Slabs were hit with 400-5K grit sand paper then a 10 passes with BLO to bring out the chatoyance, and the bolsters were brought from 220-5K.

The cap lifter was brought to 800 grit then a very fine Scotch-Brite belt finish. I wanted to add a swedge to the main to match the cap lifter but never got around to it. Though I did get the closed profile to match up nicely.

I am glad you like them, please enjoy the Holidays!

I like the older traditional folders that have been used and are still in good shape, looks like it has great history. I oiled it up pretty good and started to work that cap lifter spring a bit, the scales soaked some of it in and have a really rich luster, I'm sure the lifter'll soften up a bit over time but man thought I was gonna lose a finger nail haha It's a great knife that I'll get plenty of use out of, thx again bud & a happy new year!

Guess who didn't get a lump of coal in the mail today? The box was worse for the wear, with 2 sides busted open and packing hanging out. But, with the exception of a broken Pilsner glass, the contents appear intact.
The book is now on the top of my must read list and I can't wait to try my hand at using the striker/flint and bag of tinder at starting a fire.
Awesome box of stuff. Thank you, Santa!

I had a feeling about the glass after I dropped it in the post box. Knew the book wasn't from your state but figured the area and info still might be relevant. Glad it made it to you in time.

John, can you just sign me up now for next year?

You all did a great job with your boxes. Kudos all around!
