JK group gift exchange

So my package from daniel4572 just arrived and I'm a little speechless.

I now have a new JK knife for hunting with some sweet kirinite scales to boot. Also my son loved the card, he was dancing all around the kitchen with it.

Man, I like that blade! Did this pattern ever have a name?

I don't even remember it, which is strange because I've only done about 3 knives with kirinite handles, and those have all been done in the last year or so.

Fishiker:
Just sent a package out that hopefully makes it to you before Christmas sir, let me know when you get it safe and sound. Sorry it took so long but I was waiting for an item to get shipped to me you can probably guess which one when you get it.
Just got an unmarked package, guess it's safe to open.

I had a package from Santa in New Jersey when I got home today. What a haul!

Salt water taffy and a bunch of my favorite things~ knives, flashlights, and fire making! What cool stuff!
Thank you Santa!

Never tried starting a fire with flint and steel. I would have just now but my wife gave me the "look" as I headed for the door and she asked where I thought I was going. Thanks for such a thoughtful gift. I really like everything, the ornament is already on our tree. Merry Christmas

Sorry for the wreck that was made in that box, Rich.

I was able to get the whole container of salt water taffy in, but only if it wasn't in the box (so I sent the cover).

The GEO Schrade is now a sheepsfoot model but it started as a pruner (hawkbill). I found the shape to be less than stellar, so I reground it onto a more user friendly shape. The one with the caplifter is so you can give your beer scout a break every now and then.

Speaking of your beer scout, I tied up the lanyard to use on your orange camel bone since the coloring should be close, if it doesn't look right, it will work fine on one of your few scout patterns.
The Camillus Scout I included was made between '46-'49 (the two piece can opener tells us that). Plenty of life left and just needs a decent once over.

The Hammer brand folder takes a Great edge (1938-1941). It was originally a celluloid covered knife that was gassing out, so I pulled them off, polished the bolsters and satin'd the middle of the scales (use 400 or 600 grit for a rougher or cleaner satin when touching up and go from bolster to bolster, not spine to blade).

Fatwood, duct tape/cotton, and matched should get a fire lit whenever, keep the cotton/duct tape for ferro rod/hot summer days since you don't have to worry about it bleeding out like wax, vaseline, or pine sap.

The FA Koch in Ebony was a favorite, I just couldn't bring myself to sharpen and carry it. Here is the little info I could find on it:

It seems that the company made surgical equipment (scalpel and razors), so one would think their steel will be Fantastic! It was made sometime between 1874-1933. I haven't seen Any other two bladed knives from FA Koch, and nothing resembling that pattern.

Look up the settings for the lights, and how to change them. The fourseven has had a higher output emitter installed and it is built to be a thrower on high while keeping it's usefulness with its low low (moonlight, like .7 lumens low).

I am glad I was able to send some things that you enjoy!

Sorry for the Long post everyone!

Please enjoy your Christmas!

Myke, I have been enjoying my grab for the last week, in fact I haven't gone a day without the Opinel. I will post up after the holidays.
Thank you!

Ya had me wondering Bill and you'r welcome.
I'm glad you like the Opinel, Coghlan's doesn't offer them anymore so it'll be a rarity in years to come.
(I like the clip blade vs the spear blade of the garden knife on that handle)

Such a thoughtful box of goodies! I love all of it.
The Hammer is in my pocket right now. The quark went straight to the truck, as I've been needing a truck light.
Can't wait to use all this cool stuff! So much stuff to play with! Thank you so much.

Where NOT to put your present from Santa if you want to find it on Christmas Day. I'll open it in a bit Wolf-man-12.

Nice gifts everyone, looking good!

The case stock man I received has been in my pocket ever since, thanks buddy

Wolf-man-12,

Thank you, sir! You are a class act if not a bit of a joker:

But the Good Book says to receive everything in thanksgiving, I am very thankful.

Excuse the poor photography but it is a Buck 112 with worked bolsters. I have always heard of them but never owned one. Now I have no excuse to not be a gentleman in public.

Thank you, Jack!

Merry Christmas!
