Fyi, the term for how the light changes, reflects and is refracted by the wood is called it's chatoyance.
 
I used to say the same until I started hanging around the traditional subforum. I kept seeing that term and got mad that I didn't know what it meant...

It's my psychosis. I've dealt with it this long, I might as well embrace it... If a term is common enough for regular conversation and I don't know it, it will bug the hell out of me.

I love the smaller JKs, great gift. Mine went out this morning. USPS should have no problem getting it there before Christmas...............:rolleyes:

John, im a bit confused on the model and the wood. Please chim in and educate me.
It looks to be a variation of the Nessmuk or CBK.

The burl wood has a shimmer to it that changes as the lights reflects off of it.

I'm glad you like it!
It is an EDC CBK with maple burl. I've never used it, so I figure this would get it out of the drawer it lived in and get some use. I hit the handle with a little mineral oil before I shipped it. When it starts to dull you may want to apply some true oil to seal it up. That's what I'm about to do to its big brother.

Wonder what the odds are that there are other JKs gifted? I'm guessing very good;) I received a great one last year that I love and use a lot.
