JK group gift exchange

Wonder what the odds are that there are other JKs gifted? I'm guessing very good;) I received a great one last year that I love and use a lot.
Merry Christmas
Yup, I got one just yesterday from a Santa living in Virginia.(or maybe he was just passing through);)

well worn Robeson small stockman, JK tin knife, Victorinox Camper with black (& green?) linen micata scales (nicely done!), hand sewn leather pouch, cleverly braided lanyard, and some handmade wood beads. (box elder, maybe?)
there's also a money clip/wallet that was in SWMBO's hands so it didn't get included in the pic.

Thanks muchly!

Well, being someone who lives in Kentucky I know a a bit about the Kentucky Claus. He tends to like sending JK rehandled Swiss army knives in black keys micarta and box elder burl beads, so I think you're probably right about that.

:) merry Christmas, young sir

Not a lot of those made.

Received a package from New Hampshire today. Not knowing who my "secret Santa" is and fearing for the life of whatever critter had been shoved into the box, I opened it. I was greeted by a note reminding me not to open till Christmas (unless I wanted to). The well packaged gift wasn't moving and fearing the worst, that I might have to perform mouth-to-mouth on a comatose weasel or explain to my kids why, instead of making dinner, I'm holding a dead hamster in a Santa hat, I cut through the tape and slowly unwrapped the "gift". To say I'm overwhelmed is an understatement. Instead of an oxygen deprived ferret I find a JK LRK! Unbelievable. Thank you Santa!

wow. those JK's are great fellas!

i was hoping i would actually get some time to take pics in the light today, but no such luck. so, forgive the crappy pics. here is my loot that i got from Santa rssajs.

thanks very much R. very thoughtful gifts. it's funny, i've been thinking about getting a "just-in-case straw". i also don't have an emergency blanket. i've used the husky cutter several times already. and, the saw's great too! good stuff, thanks.

could you tell me more about the knife? i didn't see a makers mark. did you make it? i really like the tip forward balance. she really wants to cut! the nice thin grind helps with that too.

A Mora to be handled
Some wood blocks for scales
a Firesteel
Handmade spoon
a case stockman
and a very nice Marry CHristmas note

let me know if you want/need some birch bark to handle that blade with - I bet I have some laying around.
it's traditional, looks good, and best of all - is pretty simple to do.

Wow, some pretty niced stuff changing hands here!

I received a package last week from down south, Louisiana to be exact. Almost threw out my back carrying it, she weighed a ton. I honestly had no idea what it was, or what I had ordered. Turns out I didn't order it. It was my secret santa gift. Here's my booty!

Now, I understand these can be used for a number of things. I'm torn, as I can see a lot of great uses for it in my shop. I'm not sure I want the wife to see it, as she may claim it. The hot sauce, I know where that is going. I love it, thanks!

wow. that is fantastic! nice one (you too heefage).

Glenn,

There are a lot of things you can do with it. IF you use it as a cutting board be prepared for some sharpening after your done. :p You will dull the heck out of your knife in a hurry.
That board is a man-made stone made to resemble granite. Since its man-made is much harder and more dense than granite. It will never stain, is very hard to scratch and can withstand over 400* of heat.

I rounded the edges to make it easier to pick up. I wanted to stick some felt slider feet on the bottom side so it doesn't scratch your counter top up, but I forgot... Sorry. :o They can be had at Wal-Mart for a couple of bucks.

A couple of uses ive found for the stone: filleting fish, a hot plate (for baking dishes fresh out of the oven), or a table to tool leather on.
If you tool any leather on it, don't be afraid to really beat on it! I traded one to Ryan over at RGrizzle Leather and hes been using it for a few weeks now. He says its working great.

I didn't know if they sold Louisiana Hot Sauce beyond the Dixie Line so I figured I would give you a taste of the deep south. I put that stuff on just about anything I eat!

I hope you enjoy the hunk of stone and find a good use for it.

Merry Christmas!

Heath

(EDIT) Glenn, if your wife wants one of her own I can make another one. No Problem. I have a color that resembles White Carrera Marble that I think she would like.

Wolf-man-12

Finally, your gift is in the mail. I know you aren't worried about it but I am. It went out this afternoon so I hope you will have it for Friday. I'm waiting until Christmas to open mine.

Merry Christmas!

Fishiker:
Just sent a package out that hopefully makes it to you before Christmas sir, let me know when you get it safe and sound. Sorry it took so long but I was waiting for an item to get shipped to me you can probably guess which one when you get it.

We will be so busy over the next three days I won't have time to give it a second thought. Hope everyone has a safe and Very Merry Christmas:)
