I don't know John Greco, but his knives are well made and well priced.

I do know Kirby Lambert. His knives are great and he is as ethical and honest as they come.

Don't know Lambert, but I own several Greco knives. All are well made and are great values. He lives somewhere down in western Kentucky. He usually has several knives up on ebay at any given time.

Greco's stuff is some sort of carbon steel. His knives are all business. Finish isn't perfect, but his prices are really good. He makes users not safe queens. He has or does make some fancier than the one pictured above...I have a few.

A lot of it is 8670, which is a saw blade steel that (I think) is also occasionally used in bearings. Some of his older stuff was A2 and I have a small dropped point swinger (dangling sheath) in 52100.

I agree about most of his stuff being all business: most of what he sells are pure fighters. He does make the occasional Scagel style knife and I have a nice buffalo horn skinner with a cast guard he made.

imho greco makes some of the best fixed blades around, for the $$, i dont care for his folders much though.

Greco http://www.grecoknives.com/ makes really reliable knives. I have two of his folders and the Hatch-it. The folders are simple and tough to the point of unique, there is just nothing else like them. I have used the Hatch-it hard and I can't seem to dull the edge, even on thornbushes and dried hard branches.

greco was having a 2 fer sale on ebay the 2 i have shown i picked up for 76 dollars,he had 4 boot knive with orange handles that were starting at 85 dollars, best stuff ive seen for the money.
the lambert i got for a collector and most all my knives are working knives camp kives

yeah John is one of the boys been around for a while . I have met him years ago. I think in Ok at the big show. Anyway I place a lot of trust in his Work. Before I left the states { about 6 or 7 years ago] He sold me a few blades . well I dont have any with me here in da sand this time . But they went around the world with me more than a few times. I carry a wisper and a scapel and a camp knife. and have relied on them in Extrem places from the jungle and mineing towns in south american to the northern china border.. never let me down. And John seemes like a stand up guy. Great Blades that you can depend on

Kirby Lambert is awesome. I've had a few of his knives over the years and they are among the best I've ever had, and I've had a lot. He is a great guy to deal with and probably my favorite maker.

I have two Grecos, and, while not fancy, seem like solid, well made knives and a good value for the price. I'd buy another without hesitation.

I have a couple Greco knifes. I haven,t used them much, but they appear to be real solid knifes.

I just picked up a double Greco deal on Ebay tonight! It was the Custom Whisper & Swinger combo. I would post the link but I don't think its allowed even with a closed auction.
