John Lloyd Knives

I just finished going through this thread.John Lloyd is an inspiration, and I believe I read somewhere that he knows from where all good and perfect gifts come from.

It has been a pleasure to see all these works of art.John do you guys need a stone mason ,bricklayer, fireplace builder,or fisherman to come and work on the house for trade!!! I'm semi-retired and have time.: I have a pattern I'd like you to make.:)

Vince ,Tom sure is a talented artist.

wlfryjr: There are so many better knife makers on this board and your comments are gratefully received...but you had better look at Bret Dowell, Rick Menefee, Brent Cramer, Ken Erickson, etc., etc., etc. Now...those guys can build a knife. I'm still trying but fail quite often. Tom is a very nice engraver also. Thank you.

John Lloyd

I hear you loud and clear- everyone, John -you are too humble. I tried to pm you sir- you pm box was full. just landed in the UK -immediately got into Traditionals.
John- you make a great knife- thank you, and thank you everyone for contributing to the Lloyd Thread.

The Barlow is one of the coolest knifes I've saw in a long time.
That's a pretty cool looking Zulu Vince -does John make his own Damascus?

I just wanted to pop into the John Lloyd Thread and thank John and Vince for sending me this beautiful personalised knife!
I just love the Hollow Ground Blade, the Walrus scales look just amazing, and the engraving has blown me away - I just like this knife very very much.
Man....just check out that engraving!!
Vince, thank you for all that you do for us, and John, Thank you for this fantastic knife - and your great workmanship.

Here are my Lloyds together...

2 years later , the John Lloyd single blade baby bullet trapper is holding up just fine .

She now wears some scuffs , bumps , scratches and dings...but she gets used , and she always closes with a smile.... You make a dam fine knife sir.

I hope you are having a great time Duncan. John your pocket knives are fantastic , you are doing a great job on them .

A while back I bought a pink custom knife from Vince for my daughter. He wanted my son to have a knife as well, so he gave him this knife by John. (Thanks again Vince.) I had the pleasure of meeting John at Blade two years ago, and I've enjoyed watching his progress. I think this may be an earlier knife by him.

Thanks Jason. I feel blessed to count you as a friend as well. Vince was one of the first friends I made on this forum.

Rob, I think John has the biggest stash of premium stag of anyone, and a treasure trove of other top shelf handle materials as well.

If you are a knife maker seeking some of the best handle materials,John is a great guy to know. Otherwise, one of the best guys you will ever meet.

If you are looking for a custom handmade slipjoint pocket knife,I will say.... The fit & finish of his current work has improved to a level that far surpasses the price tag. He has been grinding so perfect & has his action nailed out. Smooth, and always snappy, not too hard, not too soft. I know this, because I see alot of them & can compare to other custom handmade slip joints.
John offers a wide variety of handle scales too.

Thank's John, for offering your materials & knives

If there's visible s p a c e near the pivot, it could be causing the sideways wiggle. On a knife with wooden, bone, or stag handles, I'd tap it tight myself. But, if the Auroch is brittle, you may want to contact John and ask him to tighten it for you, to avoid cracking the handle covers by trying to do it yourself.

As a maker myself, I would have prefered to be contacted with something like this in a private message or email. This can be fixed and I'm sure John wil make it right.

Getout: I will repair, tighten or whatever it needs...or replace it entirely. Just give me a yell.

John
