John Lloyd Knives

John has got it going on. Who is the maker of Damascus. Like the look of black and silver .

That is Delbert Ealy Damascus Rick. It was a small piece I have had for 7-8 years. I don't use much Damascus but I do like it occasionally.

I'm glad someone noticed this knife I was bragging about. I was beginning to think I was going nuts

A stunner...great choice of wood for a shadow pattern too.

At first I thought this wood was the ironwood John sometimes uses. I did a quick Google on Lignum vitae and it said it is considered an " ironwood"

That lignum vital looks amazing!

Lignum vitae ,latin , for " wood of life " , it was fitting it showed up here in N.Y. ,on 9-11 , with a N.Y. K. Co. shield,to boot.

Just a quick question here. Say in comparison to GECs, are John lloyd's knives typically ground thin? Basically what I'm asking are they good cutters? I'm looking to buy john lloyd slipjoint from a member here, but the first and utmost important thing is that its a good cutter meaning ground reasonably thin. I always reprofile my knives with a 30-36 degrees inclusive edge. With all the slip joints I have, all of them have been relatively thin that I put a 35-40 degrees inclusive edge as 30 degrees may have been too keen on an already thin edge.

John's hand ground blades are hollow ground. I'm not sure what grinds are on all GEC's but I think you'll be impressed with John's 52100 blade

I have one that was made in the last few months. It's around .010 more important it's ground on a 14 inch wheel.

WoW, that's all I can say! I bought the Lloyd below from a fellow forum member & just received it in the mail today, Just Beautiful!!

I do have a question for Mr. Lloyd though, how would/could I go about ordering a Drop Point Folding Hunter in DIB, with a 154CM - 3 1/4" blade & a Lanyard Loop hole?

Also, I was told this is a 154CM SS Blade, But it's not stamped?

Thank You & God Bless, David

I've read about lignum vitae wood but have never seen it until now. Looks great.

I agree about the Remington. Must feel good to put that in your pocket and then take it out for using.

THAT KNIFE THERE ^^^^^^^ is one really nice knife!!!

After 3 years , its holding up darn well. 52100 has been developing a few spots , but as to be expected with high carbon.

One of the best purchases I have ever made. Thanks again John !

JTW Jr. That is one absolutely stunning knife, John Lloyd in my opinion is one fantastic person - a Great guy who makes outstanding knives - Just Amazing!!

I was showing it to someone at a Gun & knife show , they asked " How did you let the blade get spotted like this ? "

" um , it just happened during use of the past 3 years , no biggie , it's a user"

" but it's a custom ! Shouldnt it be in the safe ? "

" John makes them to be used , I buy them to be used. I bought it for me to enjoy, not someone else "

:)
