The only sci-fi references I've got at work;)

French Sci Fi. Great addition to the thread.

May have to get my daughter to help me with this. I mostly read theology, history, biography, sports, classics (Homer, Dante, Shakespeare, Melville, etc.), and sometimes spy thrillers. Went through my science fiction phase decades ago, mostly. But I am watching the Marvel movies with my wife and daughter. I saw Guardians of the Galaxy last night. My favourite line was: "Don't call me a thesaurus!"

This is NOT an entry (yet!), but this is a book my daughter recently got, and that's my knife:

These Sci Fi GAWs are so much fun.
I love seeing all the creativity and effort people put into their entries.

Another childhood favorite of mine...
Wow, I hadn't thought of Ultra Man in a LONG time! Thanks!

Belgian to be fair, I've read all he stories and keep on reading them. I think they have been translated in several languages and are really worth a try. Imho the original author E.P. Jacobs belongs to the all times best.

Valerian is a more recent French sci-fi comic with numerous adventures. There's also been a movie.

Very, very cool.

That what makes threads like this so much fun, bringing back fun memories. Ultraman was my most favorite as a young kid. It combined superheroes and Godzilla type monsters, my two favorites. I even have an old Science Patrol uniform that my mom made me back then.

Can't wait to see your real entry, Vince. You have to admit, that's some pretty cool artwork on that Batman book.

Here's an oldie but a goody...

Got a Batman poster in my office:

See... You're more of a nerd than you let on. ;)
Yeah, I guess so. :)
I had between 2,000 and 3,000 comic books at one time (mostly Marvel), but sold them when I was about 15. Read a fair amount of science fiction, mostly in my teens. Heinlein was one of my favorites. And have taken my six children to lots of movies. My daughter has taken to knives and science fiction more than any of my sons.
I thought the head with knives in it that was posted earlier was of Spider-Man, but my daughter set me straight. And she understood many of the references that I did not.

Not an entry, but I can't resist participating.
This photo shows what I think my wife considers her favorite cinematic science fiction. No super heroes, no spacecraft or intergalactic travel (unless the "graboids" are of extraterrestrial origin), but certainly some fictional biological science. My wife (and I, probably) tend to prefer somewhat comic/campy sci fi.

"Not An Entry" -- but I couldn't help posting this. Not Sci-Fi but would be at home in any Sci-Fi scenario.

I could see that in some alien invasion movie. Great picture.

Okay, John, my entry (with assistance from my daughter):

Mexican Dalek: "How do you like my steenkin' badge, Gringo?"*

Allusion to Treasure of the Sierra Madres, a clip of which was posted recently on the Porch.

Very solid entry, Vince. The Mexican Dalek is so classic!!! The Guardian badge puts it over the top. Well done

These two totally reminded me of a pic from nightshift a couple months ago;)

Awesome. I can just hear him say, in that stuffy voice, "You seemed to have dropped this." :D

I'm going to be in, but this is just a placeholder picture for now. I need to take a new one, this picture was for my entry last time :)

I saw some of Isaac Asimov's Foundation Books in your pile the original Trilogy got me hooked on sci-fi when I was about 12. I still believe those are the best 3 sci-fi books ever written. I never read any of the ones he wrote in the 80's. By the way Hari Seldon's real name is Gary but now goes by 5K Qs 5K Qs :D.

GREAT GAW and I'm in.
