It's official. The International Custom Cutlery Exposition will take place on September 18-20, 2015. The show will be held at the downtown Marriott. The show will have 75 tables for ABS makers and 75 tables for KMG makers. Also included will be tables for suppliers. This will be a historic event, featuring top makers from both groups.

The ABS will be doing educational seminars including knife care and sharpening as well as other seminars on knifemaking. We are still in the early stages of planning, so we don't have all the seminars nailed down at this point. Also, we will be judging for MS and JS. This will offer applicants a option, in addition to Atlanta.

On a personal note, I'd like to say that it has been a pleasure dealing with Jerry Moen and KMG board members. We have had a lot to work through, and everyone has worked well together.

This is great news, but . . .

downtown Marriott where? Which "downtown?" San Antonio? Louisville? Dallas? Somewhere else? Or am I just missing it?

Kansas City, Mo according the information I have. Bill can verify. Really looking forward to this!

The feelings are mutual Bill, being a director of the Knifemakers' Guild, we are very excited about the International Custom Cutlery Expo Show, it is great to see these two organizations come together for their show. Thanks, Jerry Moen

Bill,

This sounds like a great idea. A good location and a good time of year for those who need to travel.

I hope the show is a success.

This gives me goose bumps!
Getting the best talent from the Guild and the ABS in one room is a knife nut's dream!

So sorry to see the ABS Expo leave Texas. I actually checked the ABS site in the last two weeks and had a feeling that there would be a change. Kansas City is a pretty long drive from Houston. :(

Best wishes to both organizations for the combined show. I will really miss the Seminars. I just hope someone will take over my "job" of taking pictures.

This is very cool, glad to see the show come to Missouri, 3 hrs away will be a cake walk.

Well, I was planning to skip Blade next year anyway, and this about cinches it. A much more interesting show for me. And I like the venue - right smack in the middle of the country. Plenty of relatively inexpensive flight options from here on the east coast. Looks like a winner all around.

Very productive move for both organizations IMO.
Glad to see it happen.
Good venue as well, definitely a show I would like to attend.
