Jeff - That is one slick looking Barlow my friend. I think the Ebony turned out just dandy. I will be excited to get it in hand soon.
Thank you so much for your hard work and your generosity on this project. :)

Well Ron, this has been "the knife that did not want to be made"! It angrily rejected its first covers, it attempted to develop a crack in its second covers, and the pivot pin decided to shift at the very last stage of finishing, but here it stands - a completed knife. There are a few things about it I am a bit unhappy about, but I have begun to learn that after a certain point the more I tinker with a knife the less good it does. After an even farther point, I tend to just make it worse. The crack in the wood was sealed with super glue and buffed, and the pivot pin (while visible now) is fully functional and not about to slip out.

On the plus side, this knife probably has the best filed lines in the bolsters that I have yet achieved, and the slimmest overall size especially for a two blade. The ebony is really a great material to work with. Plus, this is my first every all-steel construction customized knife. I learned a lot.

I hope that overall you do enjoy the knife a lot. The satin on the bolsters and blades is hand rubbed with fine steel wool. I chose to leave some of that original patina on the blades as it looks great with the ebony to me. PM me with your mailing address, and I will get it in the mail to you tomorrow!

Jeff, I think you have done a wonderful job on this build. I really appreciate all that you have went through and I know that this will become a regular in my pocket for many years to come. I sent you a PM with my info. I will post up some pictures for all to see when it arrives. Thanks again for your generosity. This has been quite an informative thread for myself as well as all the others here that have been following along with the transformation. :)

Glad to see it finally all come together Jeff. Fantastic. And look at that finishing on the backspring :D

Well done Jeff! That Barlow really turned out great, and I think the ebony turned out wonderful.
Ron, you lucked out on this gaw!

Really nice work Jeff. Anyone should be proud to carry that!

Fantastic work on that ebony beauty, Jeff! I am super envious of Ron's new EDC but I'm glad you continue to give new life to these old workhorses. Awesome job!
