Congrats!! Thank you for taking us along on the roller coaster ride! I have never met you, but you seem like a heck of a guy, and I'm glad to know you made it.

MORE COWBELLS!!

Congrats mike, JS stamp and peck award.

Well done. I wish I pushed harder on buying the peck award knife from you.

Jeff

Mike,

Congratulations!

It was a pleasure to meet you at Jason's table at the Blade Show. I was going to take a (probably bad) picture of the knife I bought from you there and post it here, but maybe (?) it is one of the ones that Coop photographed so I will wait and see. It was the large integral camp knife . . . I am not sure what the wood on the scales is . . . I thought you said Maple but it looks like Amboyna to me.

Anyway, it is a fine knife and in fact the only knife I actually bought at this show (although I did pick up some others I had ordered earlier). I showed it around to a few folks because i was just so impressed with the value it offered.

I look forward to seeing Coop's pictures.

Here is the knife I picked up from Mike at the show, which was actually not one of the knives he submitted for his JS, but I still like it anyway. It is an integral camp knife. The steel is 52100 and the scales are maple burl.

Please pardon the poor quality pictures. With all due respect to STeven, I happen to be the Worst Photographer In the World. :)

Congratulations, Mike!

That's a gorgeous integral, there. I have to say, I see improvement in your skill from the photos at the beginning of the thread to this one. Sure looking forward to seeing all of them.

YAY Mike! Thanks for sharing the process. When you post pix of your set of the five knives, if you're willing, would you share comments and suggestions from the judges too? Well DONE!!!

Those knives look great. I love the wood on the bottom two. Are they curly maple? What did you stain them with?

They are all really nice, but that middle bowie is exceptionally nice. Congrats!

Roger

As an amatuer knife maker, I find this an inspiring thread. Congrats on your achievements.
I too am really taken by the timber on the bottom 2 knives.

Thanks Phil,
I think my favorite comment by a judge that was written on my comment cards was " I feel like I could use these knives all day long and not get tired".
Mike
