JTolly (on the JD) -- NOW RESOLVED

I can't speak for his BF username if he has one. I have not had time to dive into it. The idea is, if the situation isn't rectified (and it looks like it will be), I give you all relevant info. That includes name and address.

In essence, this empowers BF membership to know who they're dealing with and avoid a potential scam.

@HappyDaddy: does that answer your question?

I believe I said this in an earlier post though perhaps not as clearly. As a general proposition, I am not sure I understand your objection. No one is forcing you to read (or opine) on this thread. If you don't want to know or, perhaps, want to deal with Jtolly then that's your prerogative.

ooitzoo - Since you asked... No, it doesn't answer my question. My question is quite clear. It relates specifically to the rare case (such as this) where a GBU thread is started wherein not only did the transaction at issue not occur in the BFC Exchange, there is no indication that the offending party is a member of BFC. I just want some clarification on the rules that apply, if any do. I've suggested above why I see problems with this scenario (the potential for only getting one side of the story). I've no doubt that your motives are pure and that you're just trying to help the BFC community (and put some pressure on your problem guy). That doesn't mean that I shouldn't be able to ask a perfectly rational and legitimate question about how GBU is supposed to work. If you were to object on the grounds that I should have have started a different thread, I might agree with you. Of course, knowing how some of the folks around here "think," I can assure you that there would have been several who would have jumped me for starting it and claimed that it was an oblique way of criticizing you. Hell, there might have been some who would claim that I was jtolly and trying to deflect attention from my thievery. This place can get a little (lot) goofy sometimes. So, there you go. I hope your problem gets resolved to your satisfaction. Cheers.

HappyDaddy, I hope that's the end of it. If you have any more questions about Bladeforums policy or procedures, take them to Tech Support. They do not belong in FEEDBACK.

Thanks ooitzoo for the heads up, hope you get your blade back in the same condition you sent it.

Glad you made this thread.

He sent me tracking last night so we will see.

Thanks for the heads up, many of us are members on other forums, and vice versa, so it's good to know what happens since this is one community....

Let us know how this works out, and best of luck.

I see the package was delivered... any updates?

^^^
+1

Edit: Glad to hear this worked out.

The knife forums are so close together in membership that a simple "heads up" may save someone from losing out huge in a scam

I'm all for the knife community warning of potential scammer's (regardless of where the offense may have taken place). With that said, Wolf- this was far from a, "simple" head's up. When the OP, chose to put the words, "thief/liar/& the JD," together in the same sentence of his thread title, it offended quite a few people/management, of said forum.

I highly recommend to anyone here, that is clueless to how a situation like this, affects cross forum brotherhood (especially with the type defamatory verbiage used in this case), should consider reading the JD thread which was posted by the OP, in the: +Positive+ or -Negative- sub forum.

Guys. Thanks for the heads up. The package seems to have arrived but I won't be able to check it until I get home tonight. I will post an update upon opening and, assuming all is good, edit both threads go reflect "all clear" / "resolved" / etc.
