July BOTM??

Thanks for the pictures. It does look great. I wonder how they did the stars? Look like they were put on after the handle was done.

I love how the Lucite layers change color based on what color they are next to.

Wow..... only took a day for one to show up on eBay. I am guilty of buying more than one occasionally but I think Buck should rethink the (3) limit. Better to have a limit of (1) for at least the first few days to give a fairer and more sporting chance to everyone. How many Buck fans loose out because they can't look at their email until after work etc. I know Buck would never say but wonder how many of the 150 knives went out 2 & 3 at a time. Every single BOTM in the past has sold out so there is alot of unfulfilled desire out there.

Everyone has the same opportunity. I get a ding on my email so I check to see if it is the BOTM about the 3rd week of every month. I also pick some up for people who miss it. I personally think 3 is a great limit for Buck to have. Its 100 percent fair.

One on Ebay is fine with me as well. The listing is auction style so it can be had for roughly the same price anyway. but as auctions go the price can go up.

There didnt used to be limits at Buck Factory sales and now the limit is 3 each. Still some will end up on ebay. Cant be stopped, people honestly can do what they want with the items they purchase. These are not available to dealers just the general public. Just like the the BCCI knives are available to only BCCI members. I suppose its the same for Spyderco, Randall, Benchmade etc when it comes to availability.

How many forget to look at their email when its about the time it comes out? Even if buck listed 1 each, There would still be a shortage. Then what......... Buck is supposed to make sure that everyone who wanted one gets one. Theres no solution to a limited release. They have a limit of 3. Before people would complain that buyers would snatch up a couple dozen to make a pretty profit online. With only 3 to sell. there isnt enough to make that an issue anymore. Im still good with a limit of 3.

Gee, let's agree to disagree. It's not fair if the sell out takes place in an hour.... Not everyone can live on the internet waiting for the 'moment'
Roughly the same price?... ha... starting price counting shipping is $60 higher than Buck sold it for 24 hours earlier...
Not available to dealers? Did you type that with a straight face... I think buying in quantity at the factory sales and flipping the stuff to ebay would qualify a person as a dealer.....

Dealers arent allowed at factory sales.

I wonder how many thousands if not tens of thousands of people get that notification and jump to buy. Im sure the Buck mailing list is HUGE!!!. So just about any product listed like this will disappear as fast as the phone rings. I remember the Kalinga BOTM sat forever unsold. It just depends on a crap shoot what knife is gonna rock and roll sales wise or sit like an ugly duck.

Ebay fees are 15%
Said knife sells for 200.00
30 dollars in ebay and paypal fees. Just about breaking even if the knife sells for 200.00.
Cant forget selling on Ebay isnt free. Taking paypal goods and services isnt free.

profit is almost zero if knife sells for 200.00

3 isnt exactly a qty advantage. Its not available to Dealers. A dealer would be able to buy a 150.00 knife for say 100 bucks. I don't know dealer costs are, just guessing. 150 was retail.

I get what your saying about people buying multiples, I just don't think its anyone's business what someone does with their purchase they make. Thats all.

If I bought the last 3 sweatshirts at Cabelas and sold two of them on Ebay, would even care. Say they were limited blow it out bloomers edition. lol

Its also not Bucks responsibility to know how many to produce and make sure everyone gets one. Bucks job is to make a profit. Thats the job they have. In business to make a profit so they stay in business and continue to offer us all great knives.
