Junglas BackPack

Damn. I'm totally lost. The world is 3D: Length , width, depth. So?????

Sadly this pack needs more MOLLE for the size pack and the load-out capability that it has. This is not going to be a day hiker's pack when finished. It's more designed as a heavy duty pack for rough use.

Im fine with that...... adding molle doesn't add too much more weight but it gives a lot back in terms of gear options in my opinion. I don't think this pack is being designed to carry your laptop to work or school so who cares if it LOOKS military-ish. I want those extra pouch/gear mounting options in case I need to go a little heavier that day or want quick access options to essential gear. Molle is a good thing.

The pygmy falcon is only 1400 cu. in
The Juglas is 2000 Cubic Inches

Thats a big difference.

I think it would be Maxpedition CONDOR-II VS Esee JUNGLAS PACK
this would be a better comparison IMO....

I have been actively searching for a pack for a while. I like this pack but haven't seen enough about it. With the mods that Jeff is suggesting this may be a very good platform.
Can't wait to see the revised model.

True. Forgot to mention that I have other pouches on the back of the Pygmy just to carry all my gear, so I figure with the extra pouches it about equals the Junglas.

Any idea what the final production model will be i'n cubic inches for storage and if there will be some external pockets built i'n. Wife and I are going on safari to Africa within the next 1 1/2 years. Our guide recommends one bag preferably backpack style and of course gun cases nothing more. I had been looking at the max vulture II which is around 2800 i'n tan or coyote since cammo is a no no. Figured after being i'n the military I couldn't fit everything into a pack that size for
Myself i hadn't learned anything. Whatever I decide I am sure will work for wide too. Other thing i had been looking at was an small medical pack with all the
Medical emergency supplies to attach with molle clips. Since
My line of work is dangerous I already carry my own med
and trauma kit I just want a better storage system other then one on
My tac vest. The med kit is the one thing I want attached ready for easy access beside extra ammo. For my wife it will
Be camera lenses an batteries etc she is a camera nut but we have a bag for that and it will fit nicely is a bigger bag now if the bag said esse that would
Be even better. There will def be some
Esse knives traveling with us. I Have to buy some
Extras to give as gifts eventually. I still can't believe I'm going she paid
For part of the trip at an auction last year
For me. She hates hunting but knows it's
My passion. And the
More esse gear the better because I know it will hold up and take a beating

Be batteries for her cameras. She is a camera
Junkie. Either way I'm getting a safari out of it so I happy. But An esse pack would rock!

Looks nice. I hope you guys find a good US manufacturer for your 'soft' goods....you have some good ideas and knife integration points would be sweet......like the clip in the bags you just sold on the inside as well as molle webbing on the outside.

I have been trying like a madman to find someone to sell me their pack so I can use it in Central America. Just not going to work out in time I guess. Either way, it sounds like the new mods are well thought out and I can't wait to see the new version.

Check out the pouches on the waist belt below - I think it is a good idea.

That pack looks interesting.

I've got to admit, I look at packs in a day/weekend hiking perspective. Having the thing nailed to my body, and having access to parts of the pack without removing it are huge to me. Been having a hell of a time finding a pack I liked that wasn't stupid expensive and designed for hardcore climbing, yet has good waist support and front pockets on belt and straps. Bunch of stuff I like for the 6,000 cube range, but the daypacks (2,000ci range) I find just dont do it for me.

Man that just looks uncomfortable...

I have one of the current Junglas, and while I like it, there's one big problem I have with it: the waist strap is too large. It doesn't adjust small enough to take any of the weight off my shoulders. At 5'10" and ~160 lbs. I don't think I'm unusually thin, so there must be other guys in the same boat. I'm considering selling mine because of that. I'd love to buy the next generation if you fix that.

I don't like to keep taking off my backpack to get at things so I hang them from the chest harnes
- Stuff sack - with food
- Stuff sack - with electronics - camera, GPS and or glacier glasses
- Caribiner to hang gloves and hat from
My Osprey Talon backpack has waist strap pockets but they are small so I like the ones in the link

I don't like too much bouncing around me... If it's cold or raining, pants and jackets cover me well for storage. But when it gets warm and I'm stripped down...belt pockets are great. I've been adding small packs to belts, but it tends to not make me happy.

Nice. But a nice day pack for us old timers would be nice, too. It is good to get out and about.
