Just a Walk in the Snark

Sounded weird to me too, but I didn't want to push the issue too much and piss them off. I tried getting both from them today, but they wouldn't do it. Yep a 10-10 to be exact.

Guns showed up today!!! The good thing is that the used s&w is in way better shape than I woulda accepted and the cz is friggen amazing in my hand. The bad news is that my FFL is screwey and would only let me take one home today because the don't like filling out the extra forms and said they would have to report it to the sheriff and I'd need to be fingerprinted? I did find some information online about there being extra paperwork, but the rest I believe is bs. They decided to pick which one to do the paperwork on before I got there to pick it up so I ended up bring the s&w home first instead of the cz. Anyways, any day with a new gun is a good day!!! I'm going to see if I can get out and shoot a cylinder or two tonight before work.

around here anyway, if you buy more than two pistols in one day, they're supposed to fill out extra forms and call the fbi extra or something.

long guns? nobody cares apparently :)

at a minimum, looks like his company is paying for an hour of shop time to inspect your car, and do an alignment check (if not actually doing the alignment)

i'd make sure nothing hidden got bent, your rear door works well (hinges, no pinches), and that your spare is okay on both sides, including the threaded mounts there.

looks like the trailer hitch took a punch - look for sheared bolts too

Oh dang!! I just realized what I was doing wrong to get rid of it when I checked that link. Too bad it was after I completely deleted everything. I got my passwords and whatnot, but lost all my bookmarks. I had saved them to my desktop the other day, but now that file won't open. Oh well, they needed to be cleaned up anyways, I musta had 2-300 of em. Looks like its gone now anyways.

firefox is the best, with some addons (session manager, ghostery, noscript, adblocker, firebug (developer stuff))

even modern IE is suspect; but if you aren't running IE version 7 or higher, stop using it. virus city. might as well hand credit cards over to drug dealers now ;)

safari and chrome are pretty good. i run them for support purposes, or to have more than a couple instances of a log in to a given single login site (like google, hotmail), yeah, there's ways around that, not all of them entirely useful.

FF can let you export man things. do eet. doesn't hurt to also back up its application data chain. i can tell you where that is (roughly to precisely) but it varies on different OS. it contains say, your passwords, and other data you might want to keep (or hide) :>

Glad your stuff came in AC! I hope you have a good long honeymoon with 'em!

I took a trip to Gander Mountain's "Gun World" here in Wisconsin. I was preparing for gun Mecca. I got there to find almost everything priced over MSRP. The sheer number of what they had was impressive. The handgun cases went over half-way around the outer perimeter of the store and were alphabetical by manufacturer. Once I got to Colt, I was getting depressed by their apparent lack of understanding about market value. By the time I got the Springfield, I had fondled a few, but had no intentions of buying or returning to the store.

Fortunately, there's a Cabela's 10 miles away and the trip in there salvaged my afternoon.

mrn8 - that sounds a lot like my experience with them.
new or used, 10-20% over everyone else's street pricing for new, frequently above MSRP.
occasionally they have a decent clearance on gear, like the frog togs rainsuit I picked up for under $20, but for the most part that's where i send folks to comparison shop when they think my used gear or handmade stuff is too pricey. :D

Let me clarify, I hate swimming when it involves me actually swimming, I don't mind just floating in the water like a dead man, as a matter of fact, that's how I enjoy the water. That and the teenage-college girls then tend to wear less coverage than underwear when near water.

Speaking as a former competitive swimmer, those self-same girls can be a lot more fun in the pool when you DO know how to swim. Heck my wife these days watches the Summer Olympics specifically for the men's swimming. Also means some of those scantily clad girls will come over to you and ask you to help teach THEM how to swim...

*Goes off to reminisce about happy memories...

Well, time to vent. This time last year I was hospitalized for a week for double phemonia. So the first sign of feeling bad this fall I was going straight to the doctor. Well that time came this past weekend. Went to the doctor today. Doc (who has known me all my life) checks me out and says "sure enough. Its a good thing you got here early so we can treat it before it gets to bad." So to combat it. He gives me a serious antibotic and says I ought to be a new man in a week. 1 week of "serious" antibotic. $158.48. For 7 pills mind you. I might be showing my age. But I remember back in the good old days when gettin sick was free!:grumpy:

Finally some motivation to learn to swim decently! Now if only I had access to a pool other than my grandmothers old folks community pool... Yes grand children do tend show up there, but grand children tend to be in their late 20s to mid 30s, great grand children are 4-10....

When I got antibiotics for a heavy cough, they gave me the same stuff as they give patients hospitalized for pneumonia, and 3 different doctors all gave it to me at 3 very different times... And it's normally 2 horse pills a day for 2-3 weeks

Have you tried copious amounts of alcohol?
It may not make you better, but it should make you care less!

That is fantastic advice! I wish you was my doctor! I think I'll take two six packs and call ya in the morning!

I second alcohol, if rubbing alcohol kills germs, then beer probably acts as an antibiotic within the body right? (No one correct me).

This is pure genius. I'm going to start preventative treatment right now.
