Just a Walk in the Snark

Picked up the LM Wave before work, so far I like it a lot but I haven't gotten to really use it so we will see. If I decide I really like it I am going to order the set of bits and the extender that fit into it's carrying pouch. I like Warrior's addition of a ferro rod into the elastic loops on the side too. Should make a great addition to my EDC bag I am working on, pics of the whole shebang when everything comes together.

Like I said, goes with me everywhere. I love it.

I was really heavily considering the Swiss Tool, but I respect the opinions of you folks so much that it was the final decision maker for me that most of the members who chimed in here suggested the Wave. Glad I went with it, it feels like an awesome tool. Also it's SS from what I understand, so hopefully it won't develop the infamous rust issue people attribute to LM products.

I got the black version. I haven't seen an iota of rust. I wish I would have purchased a black extender. I didn't realize they had them, until after I got the silver one. Oh well. The black one comes with the molle sheath, so I did buy another sheath for it.

Yes St. Elmo Colorado

I would have preferred the black oxide version but Home Depot only had the silver ones, and since I had a $50 gift card there I only had to pay like $35 bucks out of pocket for it so it was a no brainer.

I've still got one of the old original Leathermans.
99% of the time it gets used to take hooks out of fish mouths!
Wouldn't grab my bag without it though. lol

Hang on to that one Dubz! My GF would never feed into my 'hobby' by gifting me gear for a birthday. I usually get clothes/shoes and a fancy night out on the town. I guess I'll keep her anyways :p

My wife likes knives and such too. She was raised to love the outdoors.

hit the whole thing with Ballistol once a year, blow it out, and let it dry.

My dogs show no interest at all. I have shown them new knives a couple times, let 'em sniff them a bit, usually get no reaction. But one time when I showed one of them a new Para 2, he actually looked up at me with a look on his face that said "Did you really need another one of those?".

I swear he did. Really.

Nice Rogue, LM wave is a nice tool...I've got the black oxide version...The liner lock is a little messed up on the strait edge blade but it works fine enough that I dont need (or want...Might be legal to send it there but it sure as hell aint going back through customs since anything with a one hand opening feature is apparently a "flick knife") to send it back to the states for repair.

In on 9 :) Im back from San Antonio. Now to get caught up on everything.

I was really heavily considering the Swiss Tool

I just got myself a new SwissTool CS Plus. Best thing I've ever owned. My first one lasted me 7 years, and just when I was about to send it in because it developed some play in the pliers, I dropped it into the water from a bridge.

The SwissTool is still on my list, just got pushed back a lot now that I picked up the Wave. It was really neck and neck, so far I am happy with the LM though.

I was also considering a Leatherman. You know what tipped my decision in favor of the SwissTool? As long as the other big multitool manufacturers dont start putting the blades, screwdrivers, etc. on the OUTSIDE of the handles (when the tool is folded up) I'll keep coming back to Victorinox. I don't really get why Leatherman forces the user to open the pliers a bit, then fold out the tool you want to use, then close the pliers again. And when you want to use the pliers, there are sharp edges everywhere that cut into your hands. Makes no sense to me.

I have a Juice-CS4 that I like pretty well. The slightly smaller one (CS2?) that comes in red would also be a good choice for a compact plier'd multi-tool. If you wanted to try a leatherman without simply duplicating what you've got, I'd recommend that series.

I've got the S2 and I love it, it rides in my BK-16s pouch.
