just bought my first benchmade

I can't stop flipping my knife open

I can really feel the quality difference from my AK47. but the ak will always have a place in my heart . it really is a fantastic knife for the price and never let me down steel liners glass breaker the CS version of the axis and a wave it was the coolest I ever seen

plus I will always want it for the wave feature and with the big deep textured handle you can wave it in all crazy grips it is a lot of fun

I like it but I'd say drop that fenix and get a 4sevens Maelstrom X7 (480 lumens) or eagletac G25C2 (640 ANSI lumens) :D

Also you could consider getting Tuffthumbz to do some scalloped G10 for you

(not my ppt, this is from his site)

for now I am sticking with the fenix it is ok for what I need

I rarely need to got past the 2nd setting but I will check out tuffthumbz thanks

The orange is excellent, just what i am hoping for BM to jazz up the 275 with.

That and a stonewashed blade would be perfect for me. Screw the cerakote!

My first was a full size griptilian in real forest I still have it and love it

P.s. if you ever decide to sell that cold steel ak make sure to contact mE

why is the fuller different in that review and in the picture i used for my g-10 mock up i was hoping to get one with that blade when i bought it

but i also came to the conclusion is the one i got might be a little stronger as well

Do you have it in hand or is it a pre-order? I see no difference in the fuller - that is the thin cutout in the blade like you see in many bayonets. What are you saying is different?

i mean how the fuller goes all the way down the blade past the thumb stud into the hilt of the knife

this is a picture from the GPKNIVES website with a picture of my actual knife

Nice manipulation. Hey I searched all over the web earlier today and it seems like some of the blades have the longer fuller and some don't. There's mention of it on Benchmade forum and a couple of places, nobody really knows. They are developing another version of it so there might be a variety of stock photos. I know the shorter fuller was mentioned to possibly keep dirt or crud from running into the pivot. I really don't know why but I'd be real happy with the one you have.

From Wikipedia:

"A fuller is a rounded or beveled groove or slot in the flat side of a blade (e.g. a sword, knife, or bayonet). A fuller is often used to lighten the blade, much in the way that an I-beam shape allows a given amount of strength to be achieved with less material. Longer knives or bayonets intended as offensive weapons may employ fullers (also incorrectly known as 'blood grooves') to lighten the blade while maintaining its strength. When combined with proper distal tapers, heat treatment and blade tempering, a fullered blade can be 20% to 35% lighter than a non-fullered blade without any sacrifice of strength or blade integrity. This effect lessens as the blade is reduced in length. Short bladed knives may employ fullers simply for their aesthetic effect."
