Just broke my M6 in half :(

Anyone care to host some pictures or tell me where I can for free? I was chopping a 2x8 in half and it was stuck so I wiggled it back and forth and the thing broke in half. Busted the hell out of my right hand now. Both hands mangled.

How the hell did you do that ist a quarter inch thick of Swamp Rat’s finest!!!!

But its sure is f***ed up. Guess that you get your deserved warranty and hope its stays by this only M6 ‘’failure’’!
 
I dont know I am kind of upset. This is the second M6 thats broke on me. This time I mangled my finger in the process and wasnt using it hard at all. Last one I broke I found out it hit a grade 8 bolt that was in the pallet I was chopping and I didnt see.
 
I'm in contact with Wicked and we will be taking care of any replacements etc. I did ask him to take the pic down as we would like to inspect the knife to determine why it failed.

We have done our normal torture tests on these knives and have had no issues with them so it is an anomaly.

WOW! Was this one the replacement of the first one you broke???
 
I've never encountered warranty or service issues with SR or Eric. He will get to the bottom of this and make things right.
 
vicodin and beer do wonders for caring about injuries. Blood on the keyboard though. Yeah Eric is great he called me and is sending a replacement. I am just lucky this way I guess.
 
I found it odd that it didnt flex before it broke as I told him. My bandicoot was flexing like mad today as I was using it and prying with it. This one didnt flex at all before it snapped. It was in the wood board about an inch and broke about 2 inches back. Whenever Eric says I can post the pics I will. He wants to look at it first so they can understand wtf happened.
 
Wow, I have been trying to break a knife today......busted the ....hell outof my pinkie in the process......not a Rat though. I finally to it to a railroad spike......damaged the edge after a couple of hits. But yes Vicoden and beer will make all physical pain disappear.

In regard to removing pictures, that does not look good to the community as a whole, and quite a number of people are going to use it to no end to attack the product.

I for one do NOT blame Eric for asking that the pics be taken down. I do not think he or SR is trying to hide anything, but rather putting an end to speculation from folks who have no business doing so (ie, they don't know what they are talking about or have a hidden agenda) before said speculation even starts. I have no doubt whatsoever that this issue will be addresses scientifically and quickly by the good folks at SR. (And no, I don't own stock in the company:D ) :thumbup:
 
We will post the pics back up, the one's he sent are very grainy (camera phone) and I also want the shop to look at the knife so I can adequately answer questions about it when the pics are posted. He can post his back up at the same time, we would like to take some that aren't as fuzzy. I have no problem with the pics, but I do want to be able to answer the questions that will be asked when they are posted.

We have had a total of 6 fixed blade knives returned that were damaged beyond repair.
2 Battle Rat's (one was shot with a 30/30)
2 SAR's
2 M6's (Wicked has had both of those)

Just to be clear, it was my decision to have Wicked to wait to post the pics. I just want to have a little more info about the knife before they are posted.
