Just curious, how many do you have?

Around 100, almost 70 of them traditionals.
I´m definitely not a collector, I use all my knives exept one, a heritage from my father. And those ones, which I haven´t used for a longer period, have to go from time to time. I´m definitely not sticking to any of my knives, when it comes to real urgend needs. So, I don´t know what you can call me :cool:

So after reading some of the posts I thought I'd try and count when I got home from work. I had no clue I had "accumulated" almost 40 knives. 3/4ths are pocket knives, the rest belt knives for hunting. I didn't count the filet knives or the multi-tools I have in every vehicle and the boat. Most are SAK's and only a few modern style one handers, that sit in the safe and never get carried. I'm sure I'm forgetting some that I have in tool boxes, vehicles or hunting packs. And this is really without trying to accumulate that many. What happens if I continue to read more of the posts on this forum....I may catch what some of you have....

When I got past a hundred, I made a spreadsheet to keep track of them all. Right now I have 318 traditional fixed and folders, with 99 GEC, .

Jeff ,
No.100 GEC has to be something really special. Please tell me what you think it may be?

By the way , my current collection is somewhere over 400 but I bought a huge collection this year. I would guess my KEEPER collection at around 150to175. I just had 2 great Northwoods knives delivered in the mailbox yesterday. Merry x-mas.

I'm not really a collector per se. I don't search for pristine examples, I don't attempt to preserve anything for posterity, I don't try to get examples of a given pattern by every maker who ever did it or anything else along those lines. I'm a packrat, a hoarder, a compulsive accumulator, whatever term you prefer. How many? I don't know. It has been years since I attempted a count, and it was over 500 traditionals back then.

Who’s counting? I would estimate the number of folders on my shelf at about 85, including eight or ten moderns. On the next shelf are a couple of dozen fixed blades. No particular rationale for the accumulation. Several I have had for a long time, a few were gifts over the last twelve years, and the rest the result of binging on knives over the last three or four years.

I have about 20 traditional users folder and fixed in rotation.
Every one of them will see at least 5 days of carry at a time if I switch it up on the weekend, some have seen a month or two at a time for different reasons.

I have maybe a max of 10 traditionals that I don't really use that much if at all which just don't do it much for me.

Not a collection but an accumulation of 45 at the moment.

I likewise have an accumulation rather than a collection.
Close to 100 traditional folders, plus a couple of dozen modern knives and about a half dozen fixed blades.
I've carried and used all of them. The ones I no longer carry on a regular basis serve as reference points when I'm comparing a new acquisition.

just traditionals? or in general? i suppose the fixed blades go in the traditionals as well, they are the original :D

:D
Ahh, a soul mate. My pile consists of traditionals, modern and fixed blades in that order. It's all pretty eclectic and mixed in there are a few small "collections". A couple dozen medium jacks 3¼" & 3-3/8". Complete 6 knife collection of all the Puma Big 5 Stockman's. Complete collection of all the known (to me) Miracle Whip Schrades. Complete collection of all 8 handle colors of the Kershaw DWO 3000s. A small work in progress of Case Mini-Trappers and a small collection of ten so far, English Jacks of various brands. There is a collection of about a hundred Camillus 72s and clones and the rest of the pile is a dukes mixture of what ever strikes my fancy. At a total of somewhere between 500-700 I'm a piker in the world of knife collecting/accumulating.

Yikes, I had to go count mine. 26 with 19 of them being traditional. Case, GEC, Victorinox, Languiole, Arno Bernard and other’s. I have 2 new knives coming in the mail right now. 1 traditional (GEC 78) and a Spyderco Delica.

I hope to add more in 2018.

So, I have more pocketknives than I can carry at one time but I don’t consider myself a collector. After being on the forum for a couple of weeks it is quite clear there are some extensive and impressive collections out there. But I am curious, how many knives do people have? Just for the record, a friend had almost 400 guns. I told him if he ever pulled one out and said “I forgot I had that”, he needed to give it me....I never got any:(

Well, I don’t know if I’m a collector, or not. I have limited myself to 10 knives. All GECs. 5 #35s, 2 #73s, 2 #77s, and one of the older #78s (with a clip blade). I use them all in rotation. I will change up for a better handle, but that's about it.
All are 3 3/4 inches long closed.
I guess I should be classified as a pocket knife eccentric!
I love being on the porch!

I just got my first GEC. Northwoods Delta Jack in green burlap micarta. That attention to detail is insane. Everything is perfect. Everyone I show it to says it's beautiful.

Now I'm on the hunt for a GEC Barlow. I'd love a one arm/razor but I think that may be a near impossibly. These guys are super quick on the trigger at buying around here. Old pros.

I have a total of 57 traditonal pocket knives. 45 GEC, the other 12 are Victorinox and Case. I thinned my collection alot last year, honestly didn’t realize I still had this many. Its a hobby I truly love. Merry Christmas Everyone!
