Just curious which front pocket do you prefer to have your trad in?

Right handed.
RFP: EDC knife (almost always an Opinel 9 but lately, a large Case Sodbuster gifted from a forum member) and loose change. I hate loose change and end up dropping it in tip jars often. Any other Nazarenes out there who remember Alabaster Boxes? I digress.

I'm right handed and have always carried my user knife loose in my RFP. Nowadays, I carry a second knife for ogling and fondling in a pocket slip in my left front cargo pocket. If I'm in jeans, the second knife goes in my left rear pocket.

As to your digression, I grew up in the Nazarene Church (father was a pastor) and Alabaster Boxes were ever present in our house. One of my Dad's other jobs (since pastor really didn't pay all that well) in Olean, NY was operating a machine at a knife factory. [See how I reverted to knife content?]

Front pocket?

Watch... or none, at least without a pouch.

How to carry was a kind of a sticking point for me for years. I emphatically don't like a knife sideways in the bottom of a front pocket. While I am working I usually empty my front pockets completely. For years I would get a knife out of my toolbox along with my other most used tools and put them all on the workbench.

Back pocket carry was an epiphany for me. I started a thread about it here and BladeForums brought me along. A lot of folks do it and upon trying it I found it surprisingly comfortable and the knives held up surprisingly well. So work became back pocket carry.

I carry a small knife while not working and watch pocket carry was a no-brainer although I have washed a few that way. A clean knife is a happy knife.

Now I often have to wear gloves at work and I am in a state of flux. Back pocket carry at the bottom of the pocket is no longer an option. I have tried pocket hangers in the front and back pocket. I've tried back pocket carry with a bandana to hold the knife upright and I am looking for the perfect, clipped pocket sheath. All good but the quest continues.

Cchu518, I like your pocket sheath a lot. Can you slip the knife in and out one handed?
Davek, that's not my sheath I was admiring FordRangers's work as he made those for himself! He noted he can go without a modern so I'm presuming they are easy access! I like them alot too!

Front right always: Vic Classic in some color or other, or perhaps alox (red or silver).

If wearing jeans, then front watch pocket: Camillus army engineer's knife (4-blade camper pattern).
If wearing shorts, then right rear: Camillus army engineer's knife.

If wearing dress slacks, then Vic Classic in its accustomed place, all by itself. (So I guess that if forced down to just a single knife, it'll be a Vic Classic.)

Generally left front pocket because there is space at the bottom of the pocket. Right front has my wallet and it just felt awkward there.

Primarily, in my right front 'watch pocket'. The jeans I wear now have a 'cell phone' pocket instead, which is larger and even better than the watch pocket; it'll hold three traditionals (up to 4.25") vertically, if I choose to fill it up (and sometimes I do). :D

(Today, the cell phone pocket is carrying my 6375 CV stockman and my 3137 CV Sod Buster...)

You know guys, love ya all, but this thread discussing which pocket you carry your pocket knife in just cracks me up, really ?? I mean really ?

I don't really have a preference as far as pocket is concerned. I generally keep it in the left front, but I just noticed my knife is in my right front at the moment. I never carry any knife in my back pockets; just because I don't really want to sit on my knife.

It just goes in the pocket that's closest to the knife at the moment I want to put it away I guess. LOL

Pretty much identical to what Jack said, except mine is in my britches, of course. ;):D:D:D

:D
